Sooner or Later? The Poetry of the Piano
Radio 3 | 7 September

As part of this autumn's BBC celebration of the piano - The Piano on the BBC - the well known pianist and broadcaster David Owen Norris is offering an inventive media masterclass with members of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, to be filmed for the BBC Radio 3 website, in the BBC Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House on Friday 7 September.

Not only will this appeal to those with an interest in the piano, and to those with a specialist interest in performing music, but also to the amateur and general music lover, offering an insight in to how pianists set about discovering and conveying the poetic musical message of much loved piano pieces.

Date: Friday 7 September
Venue: BBC Radio Theatre, London
Doors open: 2.15pm

Watson and Oliver

Here's a chance to get a sneak preview of the ideas we're working on for BBC Two's Watson and Oliver, series two!

Lorna Watson and Ingrid Oliver will be trying out loads of new sketches and characters in front of a live audience in preparation for their forthcoming series. Be there at the first ever performance of what will be some of the funniest sketches of the next series. Also be there as we find out which sketches don't go down quite so well and maybe need a bit of a rewrite.

As well as their own BBC Two series Ingrid and Lorna have had three consecutive sell-out Edinburgh Festival shows, appeared in comedy greats like Peep Show and The IT Crowd and are two of the most engaging and funny live sketch performers around so an entertaining evening is guaranteed.

Date: Wednesday 19 September
Venue: RADA Studios, London
Doors open: 7.15pm

RTS Huw Wheldon Lecture

Breaking News: Can TV Journalism Survive the Social Media Revolution?

For BBC international correspondent, Lyse Doucet, 2011 was the year the DNA of TV news changed: social media was suddenly at the heart of all the big stories. From the Arab Spring to the London riots, it transformed the speed and manner in which our news is sourced, informed and delivered. Stories are broken, pictures uploaded and news shared, all via social networking sites. Audiences now have instant access to overwhelming amounts of information online.

What are the advantages and risks in harnessing this great resource? And how does traditional broadcast news fit into this new landscape?

In the RTS Huw Wheldon 2012 Lecture, Lyse charts a journalist's journey, examines lessons learnt, and looks at how television news must evolve to satisfy the changing needs of its public.

Date: Friday 28 September
Time: 7pm (entry on site from 5.45pm)
Venue: BBC Radio Theatre

Mrs Brown's Boys

Series three of the BAFTA award winning hit sitcom Mrs Brown's Boys returns to BBC One.

Brendan O'Carroll writes and stars as Agnes Brown in his own hybrid sitcom/entertainment show, set in Dublin. Agnes is a hilarious, foul mouthed Dublin matriarch who interferes in the lives of her children and friends. The theatre show has been running successfully for a number of years touring the UK.

Due to the popularity of this show we are operating a random draw for tickets.

You can register for tickets at any time between now and Wednesday 12 September at 10pm.

No applications will be accepted after this date and time.

We have a limited amount of seats in the studio and as we have such a huge demand for tickets, we are restricting the amount of tickets and dates that you are eligible for.

You can apply for as many dates as you wish but if you are successful in the random draw you will only receive tickets for one date and this date is non transferable. So please choose carefully.

You can apply for a maximum of two tickets per household.

Multiple applications for the same date will be deleted.

Please note that entering the random draw does not guarantee tickets and you will only be notified of your successful application on receipt of your tickets.

Dates:
Thursday 4, 11, 18 and 25 October
Thursday 1, 8, 22 and 29 November

Venue: BBC Scotland, Pacific Quay, Glasgow

Doors open (afternoon recording): 2.30pm
Doors open (evening recording): 4pm

To enter the random draw, visit the BBC Tickets Website

Bleak Expectations

The Victorian comic epic adventure is back! Thrill, gasp, and generally say "yikes" or "aaaah" where appropriate at the further adventures of Pip Bin as he attempts to thwart his evil and badly named nemesis, Mister Gently Benevolent.

Shipwrecks, time machines, the Wild West, volcanoes, the Underworld and a sinister new kind of cake abound in six more glorious chapters of Bleak Expectations by Mark Evans.

Starring Richard Johnson, Anthony Head, Tom Allen, James Bachman, Geoffrey Whitehead, Sarah Hadland and Susy Kane. Produced by Gareth Edwards.

Dates: Tuesday 25 September and Sunday 21 October
Venue: BBC Radio Theatre, London
Doors open: 7.15pm

To apply for tickets, visit the BBC Tickets Website.

The Barber of Shavingham Radio 4 | 12 October
The Barber of Shavingham is a joyous, delightfully madcap acapella musical about a Spanish matador who must travel to sleepy Norfolk to claim his inheritance.

Time: 6.15pm
Venue: BBC Radio Theatre

Minimum age: 14
Maximum tickets per request: 4

I just got this from From SRO Audiences. The Sarastro is quite a unique restaurant and it sounds like an interesting experience:
However, I just saw on their website that although the tickets are free you will have to p*y for your food and drink!!! 8O

Hello there!

We know it's very short notice, but we thought that you might be interested to know that audience tickets are now available for a brand new restaurant show taping at Sarastro in London tomorrow! As with all of our shows, the tickets are FREE!

CHEFS
We would like to offer you the opportunity to attend the filming of a brand new, exciting BBC food show taking place at lots of different exciting locations across the UK.
Celebrity chefs are being dragged back into the real world to prepare and cook for a restaurant or foodie event full of p*ying customers. Going head to head in competition, two chefs will each be offering up a starter, a main course and a dessert. Diners choose which one to order – and at the end of the evening the chef who’s made the most profit will win the competition. All profits go to the chefs’ nominated charities.

The second show will record
on Wednesday 12th September 2012
at Sarastro, 126 Drury Lane, Theatreland, London WC2B 5SU (nearest tube: Holborn).

If you would like to join us for a unique dining experience, then apply now via our website at
