Above The Stag presents: a new musical based on the lives of gay playwright Joe Orton and his lover (and murderer) Kenneth Halliwell.

Opening offer: Book now and get tickets for just £12.00 on performances 2-6 April 2014 (usually £18.00)

Joe Orton was the celebrated writer of irreverently hilarious plays Loot, What The Butler Saw and Entertaining Mr Sloane (as well as witty, explicit diaries); and close friends with Kenneth Williams.

Beginning on the day Joe and Kenneth met, and continuing to the day they died 16 years and two months later, Orton fizzes with their ambitions for success and celebrity, and charts the rise in Joe's fame that increasingly eclipsed Kenneth's role in it. Their relationship barely made it past the 1967 Sexual Offences Act which decriminalised gay sex: they were dead in August that year.

Orton captures the lies and despair, as well as the humour and bravado, of these prickly, abrasive, funny, lusty and brilliant young men.

Written by Richard Silver & Sean J Hume/ Directed by Tim McArthur | Choreographed by Phil Aiden | Musical Director Chris Huntley

Book now 2 April - 4 May | Tickets £18.00; First week £12.00

2for1s to over 300 gardens for a year, incl Kew
b*y £4 mag for card that gets 2for1 or up to 50% off some adult tickets

UK-wide

It's back again this year! From Thu 24 Apr, b*y May’s Gardeners’ World magazine (£4) and you’ll get a card for 2for1 entry to 321 UK gardens, valid until 12 Apr 2015. If you’re going on your own, 55 of the gardens also give up to 50% off adult tickets - see the guide or website for details.

If you’ve got a subscription, the mag’s posted on Thu 17 Apr, so you should get this before it goes on general sale on Thu 24 Apr.

It's 2for1 on two adult tickets. Gardener's World says it's down to the individual garden if it’ll accept a child or concession as the second ticketholder - call ahead if this is the case.

Once you've got the card, sign it, and turn up at any of the gardens listed. You can use it as many times as you like, meaning if you visited every garden included in the offer just once, you'd save up to £2,078.45!

One of the biggest savings is a 2for1 at the Eden Project which cuts £23.50 off your spend (the cost of a full-price adult ticket on the day). See below for more info on the other gardens in the offer.

The magazine's out till Mon 26 May. Although it says you can b*y the issue online for £5.99 after this date (while stocks last).
