Limitless
Re: Limitless
I thought he did not die as he had his scientist get rid of all the abnormalities and test out various ways of producing the drug for 2 million dollars. Also I thought he got into politics because he was a genius and had lots of money and power.
It was a little far fetched but very enjoyable all the same.

The message: Ill tell you once i read the book, i dont think its the obvious dont take drugs shabam, i think its more technically, and possibly a metaphor for something.
He did have an extremely good lawyer,
and the girl he was meant to have killed, was hinted to have been killed by the guy in the tan coat(hes actually listed as that on credits).
A politician with that many dead bodies littering his past?

You can have as good a laywer as they come, mud sticks, and in politics you only have to suggest someone might have been involved in something for it to get into the voter's mind.

Re: Limitless
I quite enjoyed it but agree with ejwrank that it could have been different and a lot better.
I'm deducting marks for the violence (which no-one has even mentioned!), plot-holes and uneven tone. The one-year gap was particularly jarring but to talk of a lack of credibility in any aspect is rather beside the point when the whole thing is a fantasy.

Re: Limitless
I saw this at a very full Manchester Lowry last night and enjoyed it.
But as a lot of people have said, any attempt at all to analyse or make sense of it and the whole thing falls apart.
In politics mud does stick so the whole ending seems even more unrealistic that the basic super pill premise of the film. At times the film seems overwhelmingly anti drugs and then suddenly its not and he gets all his dreams come true with no consequences at all. And even after accepting the brain enhancing properties of the pill the way it turned him into an ultimate fighting machine was a bit odd and very like Bourne or The Matrix's "Drunken boxing" scene.
Having said all that, it is good fun and Bradley Cooper is a good leading man, but maybe with a bit more consistent tone or a few less plot holes or even a darker ending it could have a been one to return to again and again rather a decent throwaway popcorn movie.

Re: Limitless
I loved this film, even with the slighty confusing ending. For a bit there, I thought I must have switched off towards the end and missed something, but I hadnt. So, I guess it was an ending to make up your own mind as to whether or not not he was taking the new improved version of the drug? He said he wasnt, his girlfriends face said a whole other thing when he was talking chinese in the restaurant at the end?? All in all, a really good film!!!
Nobody's perfect!!!

Re: Limitless
I thought this was quite enjoyable but, oh the terribly annoying plot holes. I can suspend disbelief with the best of them for sci-fi possibilities in the future and even for unlikely human behaviour but stupid practical things do annoy me.
A several-million dollar "bunker" which is a "fortress" that can be broken into without making enough noise to alert the cops. And with no panic room, no alarm connected to a security company or even a landline telephone?
Re: Limitless
Enjoyable, although not unforgettable. The plot was boring at times and in the end some questions remained unanswered, but cinematography and direction were excellent.
Saw it at Odeon Holloway and the usher did not have a clue that it was a free screening and told two ladies they could not sit on the premium seats without a proper ticket. The ladies explained the situation, i.e. that nobody had pa*d for any sort of ticket, so the guy went to ask for information and came back after a few minutes, apologizing profusely
