Rise of the Planet of the Apes

#1 Post by TheyCallMeMrGlass » Fri Apr 15, 2011 9:21 am

I think they going for origins reboot here because I cant see the storyline fits with the original classic Planet of the Apes movies. Where the original series depicted a circular evolution, this one suggests a more realistic linear one. But no matter, I quite like this first trailer, I'm certain it suggests a far better movie than the diabolical Tim Burton version!

This has Andy Serkis is in it and we know how brilliant he is at portraying creatures!

I do think Hollywood is running out of ideas though if they are resorting to a remake of this nature.

Valda, did you ever watch the tv series? There is a DVD box set of that as well. It was great...well at least it was when I was a kid. I can only recall one standout character and that was Gallan, played by the great Roddy McDowell. He was exactly the same character as Cornelius in the films!

That would be Galen, pronounced gay-len. I also watched that series.

No I hadn't seen the TV series. Actually I'd nearly forgotten the films after Tim Burton massacred the story
