Real Steel
Re: Real Steel
Generally speaking this film is alright. Hugh Jackman did a great job as a action hero as well as a sloppy father. The kid performed amazingly well in building the bond between him and his father. Also robots in the film, particularly Atom, are quite amusing when they fight. Overall it is worth the trip for two of us rushed to the cinema 10 miles away (man, I can't find a local cinema doing free screening of this film) in early morning on a Sunday.
Re: Real Steel
We are also in the camp who found this one better than we expected. The kid playing the son was excellent - plus the robot fight scenes were well done and we were kept entertained enough.
I thought the aspect about Zeus and his 'owner' would have been developed more - I expected more villiany there - it felt a bit pointless to me and not much of a climax. I was also very disappointed where the film ended - I wanted to see a bit more between father and son and to especially know what happened to Atom. For it to end that abruptly really seeled the idea that it was a kids film for me.
A good one for Dads to take their tween & young teen kids to I would have thought.
An entertaining enough 6/10 from us.

Re: Real Steel
Saw this at Surrey Quays today.
Hugh Jackman was good as well as the kid. A bit schmaltzy and predictable but enjoyable altogether. A feel good film and I definitely felt good when I left the cinema with the sun shining was a change in London.

Re: Real Steel
Seen this today. Was hoping big things for this but sadly I was disappointed. It was too long and I felt it dragged on. Was expecting a few twists such as when "he sold his son" but nothing else was said so quite predictable. The best bit was the ending! 6/10

Re: Real Steel
Far better than I expected. Loved the robot and Max dancing. Yes it was predictable but would be annoyed if it had a terrible ending. The cinema was very quiet when it was on so the kids were obviously enjoying it. 8/10
