Well if the film is what it's hyped to be, i.e. a revolutionary step forward for film, glimpsing it this early is a no-brainer. I doubt it, though. I'm still going cos I'm really curious, and perhaps to make the trip worth it's an idea to go see a film after?

Im still unsure about the changing the face of filmmaking expectation. When i saw the footage it was exiciting, but as it wasnt a trailer and just some random scenes i didnt feel like i totally immersed in the world and found it difficult to be totally WOWED by the footage. With watching just a few scenes you dont really believe on invest in the footage because the world of Pandora hasnt really been explored of explained yet, so you can be abit confused as to what you are seeing.

Im really hoping they dont just show us the best scenes, but Cameron did a quick intro before the footage i saw and said they are still finishing it up. Its werid...im still very confused about this Avatar day and if it is just a clever marketing ploy or really trying to get people to believe that this type filmmaking is incredible and wet our tastebuds and worth being excited about?

I really hope this doesnt suffer from overhype but i fear its already happening...

On the same day Fox will take the wraps off its special 3-D/lenticular one-sheet posters for the film, Ubisoft will unveil the trailer for their videogame James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game, and Mattel will reveal the action figures for the film’s Avatar and alien Na’vi characters (although if you were quick you might have already seen a shot of these online)…

I don't think it's worth me p*ying £3 tram fare for 15, 16 or 17 minutes plus I'll be going to a closer cinema that day so it'll probably clash.

with them doing this free 15 minutes are they hoping to get everyone excited and spread word of mouth so by the time the film comes out they won't do any free screenings?

I'm looking forward to it, I was hoping for more on the footage I saw yesterday, but it just felt a tad generic in an army talk scene and then some blue things running away from odd looking creatures based off Rhinos and Panthers, fingers crossed an IMAX extended look will blow our collective mindgrapes.
