Saw this at Bluewater last night. Agree with other comments. Wouldnt rush to see again. It was so long too. We got into the cinema at 6.30pm and walked out at 9.30pm - too long. Very slow start and no real substance. I thought great acting from Oscar. After about an hour i was wishing it would hurry and get moving to the end. When at the end i found the film really good. Disappointed that his mum didnt see the self harming / disappointed his mum never got to hear the voice mail. When she said she missed his voice - i was convinced the boy would play her the messages but he didnt. Also wanted to know what was in the safety deposit box.

The film is only 129 minutes long, that's a tad over 2 hours.

I felt so emotionally manipulated. As in, I knew they were trying to tug on my heartstrings and it worked and I felt awful for it!

Did you watch it at The O2? Because I swear I also heard someone laughing hysterically throughout.

Loved this film - very Moving and a great performance from the young boy. Very busy cinema and got the impression the majority were moved by the storyline.

*on a personal note, I was REALLY grateful for the spare tickets from a lovely fmuk user, such lovely ppl :)

I wanted to see it again (no not kidding) so I'm watching it on streaming and just noticed something:
Oskar takes the lift on "the worst day ever", at the beginning of the film... but isn't he supposed to be afraid of lifts? At the end of the film it shows like it makes him nervous, and I'm pretty sure at some point he says he prefers to use the staircase...
Also,
at the scene bar when the grandfather 'tells' a bit about his story, we can see him writing stuff about 'London, Paris, Moscow, but never fit anywhere' but the barman does absolutely not read this paper.
Just so you know.
