I thought the camera work was far worse than "Melancholia" and a million times more erratic than the "Bourne Identity" sequels. Be warned. LOADS of shaky cam.

Also, might just me, but I found there to be an extremely strong echo throughout the movie. Don't know if that was just the sound in the Sky Superscreen acting up or if it was deliberately filmed that way, but it was very distracting.

PS. Did any of you guys see "The Virginity Hit" ? Has a similar premise, but the execution is dreadful.

no mention of the shaky cam though; do you think it's safe for me to see it?

Yes, the shaky cam was part of its charm, ma'am.

But you won't have me peeing myself next to you, but YES you should see it, despite the text I sent you :)

Edinburgh only about 40% full.

It started badly and I hated the shaky camera action made me feel travel sick!

However the film improved as a film - not saying I agree with the celebratory nature of events but as entertainment, it was entertaining come the end. It felt much longer than an hour and a half.

6/10

I saw this with Slackers Club. I think this helped with the enjoyment of the film and the atmosphere in the cinema. Perfect student fodder.
I was initially put off by hearing about Steve's walk out, but I persevered and was rewarded with a well amusing movie that was no worse than some of the similar films of this genre. I actually enjoyed it - quite a few laugh out moments (and a few cringes too).

I'll give it 6/10

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)

I quite enjoyed this. It's not without it's faults of course. It's crude and repetitive. The characterisation is almost non-existent. I'd also point out that the female characters are all presented as simple sex objects (even the best friend) but the story is shot from the point of view of the teenage boys so this is perhaps unsurprising. The male characters don't exactly come out of this particularly well either though (Costa was a completely repugnant, though occasionally amusing, prick).

But I find it hard to deny that it has a certain rude, brash and infectious energy running throughout that builds nicely to a suitably chaotic and over the top climax. It's also often very funny and has a very effective soundtrack (I'm fine with anything that has the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and LCD Soundsystem in it). Plus as the intention was clearly to present the most epic teenage party of all time on screen then I think it succeeds pretty while in this respect.

Not particularly original, hardly subtle but surprisingly enjoyable.

I agree with you - "stupidity at its finest" and as you say in your review "completely bonkers"!

Good summing up! But obviously, I would edit it to say not that enjoyable! :D :D

I actually had to try and stop laughing because I could see that you and ejwrank were looking so grim and severe, so I thought I'd try and do it quietly!
