After another 15 minutes of inane chatter I simply turned again to them and stated rather loudly "Shut the f**k up!". No sure where that came from - I surprised myself) but it certainly worked! It was the fact that the couple were mid to late 50s, not teenagers, and also that I was at the end of a row and unable to get up to complain to management. Second half of the film was in silence! Yay!
Methinks you were channelling another dear member, stuartboy!
Haha! Now who could that be?!!
It certainly didn't feel like me saying it though. Lol. That crossed my mind as well.

Saw this tonight as a double bill with a um...a Bollywood film, lol.

Ive seen many heist movies but I dont recall seeing any smuggling thrillers before but this was such a film and I thought it was a pretty decent one at that. It was well paced too with a couple of exciting sequences and some clever plot intracies. However, the plot turns are jaw droppingly unoriginal. How many films am I going to see this year with the same bloody plot twist, sheesh. Didnt stop me from enjoying this film though.

I also enjoyed the little comic relief provided by the ship's captain (JK Simmons) who tries to run a ship and sniffing out any potential smugglings. There was a proper laugh out loud moment with him towards the end.

Mark Whalberg never cuts it for me as a leading hollywood star but I did like him here. I think as he gets older he carries a little more steely presence and here, he carries the movie well.

7/10

Saw this at Greenwich last Tuesday. I enjoyed it very much. Enough twists to keep it interesting.

saw this tonight and realised during the opening credits that it was actually a remake of an Icelandic movie Reykjavík-Rotterdam... yes another one!
I have to say I liked this film even though it felt very long; and now I really want to see the original (ok, sf, you might be right!)

7.5/10
