Re: Ted
Despite wanting to see it, I don't think it's worth p*ying for... But that's coming from someone who before finding out about free screenings would go to the cinema only once or twice a year for special occasions/movies. I'd use a voucher on it though, but it's hard to find spare time that I don't already have a (free) film/theatre trip scheduled!

Re: Ted
Do you still want the Flash Gordon DVD? We have one you are welcome to. Let me know where you'll be (Central London) for future screenings so we can arrange to pass it over.tsoiboy wrote:Saw this tonight at a packed Picadilly Apollo Cinema and it was packed
I'm a Family Guy/ American Dad fan and when I heard the sweet dulcet tones of Patrick Stewart narrations I settled into my comfort zone. Yes, it was crude, racist and sexist but really I have seen and heard worse and the film is not to be taken too seriously...after all it is about a teddy bear which comes to life through a boys wish. For me the best bit was the surreal addition of Sam J Jones from the 80s Flash Gordon film. He was just acting like an old sports jock in this film but Flash Gordon brought back boyhood memories because he is the saviour of the universe.
Really this is essentially a buddy buddy film but with a talking teddy bear as one of the buddies. Quite enjoyable if you are a Family Guy/American Dad fan. Not sure if others would really enjoy.
7/10
PS. Wish I was at the earlier preview then I would have got a free copy of Flash Gordon dvd.

I could of! but there was no preview near me!Ms Thrifty wrote:You're not the only one, and there was even a preview fairly local to me, but on a day I couldn't go. Think I've had it now as not a Virgin customer and none of their locations are near me anyway - could you go on Monday 30?
The only time there was a local preview was when TDKR was playing the same day!
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"
A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

This film had its moments to smile but hardly a laugh-out-loud film for me and i would have been disappointed if I had pa*d for it. 5/10

Re: Ted
Home nice and early cos they started the film at 6:05 which was fine by us as we were already there!
Not sure what all the people who dribbled in until about 6:40 thought though.
Enjoyed it just as much the second time. A good laugh!
