I am REALLY looking forward to this! The clips I've seen look great . . . hope we get a freebie as I've a feeling I may want to see this several times "on the big screen". I've seen it many times on stage and love the music>

I just found it! How can you not just love this show? You do realise thefilm is done exactly the same as the stage show but with full sets (at least this is how I think it's going to be
) and yet, you say you are looking forward to film 
I love the songs and the story, of course! (in case you hadn't guessed!)

Honestly, I just couldn't understand the dialogue. The accents and dialogue were just way too incoherent for me. Sorry, me not British (subtitles would have come in quite handy).
I'm looking forward to the big screen adaptation because after a great deal of post-performance reading, I'm now comfortable with the story...and it is undeniably a great story.
Also read that the movie adaptation won't contain a pre-recorded soundtrack but rather songs recorded by the actors during filming. A first for musical cinema.

Looking good, Jayman! I am sooooo looooking forward to this film. 
In fact, I was thinking about making this my Christmas present to my friends . . . take them to the film and provide the goodies to eat/drink! We usually spend between £5 and £10 for a present and I think this would be a great night out.

Saw this last night, completely unfamiliar with the story, the musical, anything.
Amazing performances by Crowe and Jackman, career bests easily, and HAthaway's little bit was Oscar-probably-winning, but Hooper's direction is painful.
If you like the scope of a cheap TV production, close ups that make it seem like every set has only 5 metres of background to it, and CGI that ITV would be ashamed to air with, Les Mis might be the technical achievement you've waited for.
I thought the film was, as the title says, Miserable. The story is utterly poorly paced, characters never fleshed out enough to find any emotion or surprise at motivations or events, the revolution was like a paintball afternoon with the lads, and the schtick by Baron Cohen and Bonham Carter was attrocious. I sighed when they first appeared, and they didn't fail at meeting expectations.
Having said that, I honestly thought the story was rather disappointing, and with a musical featuring only one or two spoken moments, I expected more than one decent song in the batch. This is clearly a popular musical, goodness knows why when it's an utterly depressing anti-crowd-pleaser. But I guess it's like MAmma Mia! in the way that the film should appease fans without having to go above and beyond. I jhust feel bad for a decent cast performing at their best in this mess.
Others have come out singing its praises, and there were applause moments in the press screening (Anne Hathaway was NOT singing live in person last night, but don't tell them that), but I thought it was an awful film. Surprised it's a hit in any case.
