Not one for me. Never really got into it. I can see the merit of doing it documentary-style but the shaky camera just got annoying and I felt it was too fast to absorb.

The "f" word used far, far too much in this. If you took out that word then the actors didn't have a lot of dialogue to learn!! Didn't like the camera work either but the film was a good cop movie and the sad ending was predictable but I would give it 7/10.

Watched this at a relatively full Trocadero - and was reminded why I hate that cinema. So annoying when I can hear & feel the sounds/bass from the surrounding "entertainment."

Anyway, the film... I enjoyed it. It was like Southland ramped up a few notches in terms of language & brutality.

I thought the shaky camera was going to give me a headache but I got used to it pretty quickly.

The leads played the part very well & they really portrayed a true friendship & brotherhood. I read comments that the bad guys weren't scary & I agree... annoying yes, scary no.

Very enjoyable movie 7/10

I watched it tonight and why did Jake Gyllenhaal cut his hair?
I thought he looked better with hair.
And the ending was predictable and not a patch on Training Day.
Its from the writers of training.

Denzel Washington was amazing in the Training Day.

Didn't make it to this last night thanks to it clashing with Cardiff's Christmas lights going on and not being able to park.

What with the wife being ill the night I had a free ticket for Argo a few weeks ago, I'm not having much luck with my free films.

I saw this yesterday evening at Cineworld West India Quay. It was not what I expected and I'm still not sure how I feel about this movie. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña, there are a lot of funny moments with these two. I like the idea of the camera thing, that they were each filming their part but I have to say that the jerky bits made me slightly dizzy and were a bit hard on my eyes at times. There were a few scenes that felt a bit slow/long as well and I wasn't so keen on the bad guys. The acting on their side was a bit crap and it felt very amateur compared to the cops. However, overall, I think it was a good story.

Here's my review - I also recently noticed that the entire film is on Youtube for some reason.

That can't be right can it?
