Re: Arbitrage
I've seen this and it's actually pretty cool. Richard Gere is electrifying in his role as a troubled hedge-fund tycoon thrust into a situation whereby the questionable elements of his life threaten to destroy him.
The story is all too familiar but it's well directed, suspenseful and thoroughly absorbing. Highly recommended.
PS. Familiarity with the jargon of the investment banking (under)world is not at all necessary but if anyone's interested, arbitrage is the act whereby a banker takes advantage of price differences between several markets.

Re: Arbitrage
Just got back from the premiere. Still trying to work out what I think of the film to be honest...
I can definitely see why Gere has been nominated for best actor, superb acting, but I thought the storyline was a bit of a let down. There was a serious lack of a twist and also the ending was very strange. It almost seemed like they thought the film had been going on long enough and just said cut.
6/10 (purely because the acting was so good)
