A film about Manchester, not showing it in a single cinema in the North West of England.
Thanks for nothing Virgin Media!

Have to say that I enjoyed this more than I expected to but maybe that was down to the music more than anything else  .

Decent performances from the cast plus a few amusing characters (and nicknames ;) ) means that overall I feel reasonably comfortable handing out a 6/10 to this flick...

Can only mirror razorback's comments. So-so film but lifted by great soundtrack & some likeable characters. I had feared that there would be little stone roses, so was over the moon with the soundtrack.

7/10. worth the trip.

Back from Glasgow Braehead. Finally they show us Rocket instead of 2:12.

Well it was alright. I had low expectations as personally I don't like The Stone Roses. However it had the feel of a English kind of "Stand By Me" without the dead body at the end. A story about a group of friends on a trip and not realising it was their final journey together. The story could have been shorter. There was bits of this that were funny too. 5/10

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

It was very like my big fat mad diary from E4 (two actors from the show and set in the same timeframe) which I enjoyed so quite enjoyed this. Was at Widnes so was a bit miffed the Spike Island part wasn't as well researched as it could have been but that's just me being picky :) Soundtrack was good, haircuts hilarious and was fairly enjoyable. Extra point for the lady in the van so 7/10 from me.

went to see spike island today and to be honest i didn't really know what to expect. My first thought was a british indie style film with an all stone roses soundtrack. I was pleasantly surprised in the end. The film does not just deal with the antics of a group of young men (age ranges 18-21) from manchester who are in a band and worship one of the biggest brit-indie bands of the 90's. The main character called "Tits" is trying to cope with the affects of his fathers illness and his inept older brother who spends all his time drinking and taking copious amounts of drugs. Tits eventually finds romance near the end of the film much to the envy of his best mate. Another member of the group is obsessed with getting laid although he is accused "the only fanny he saw was when he looked in the mirror". Overall a good film with a good soundtrack and the message of family is pressed on quite a bit o/

7/10
