Last Vegas

Saw this tonight at a VIP screening, at Odeon Tottenham Court Road. I have only been there once, but the place seems to have improved since the last time I have been there. Screen 1 was also very nice too.

We were greeted with hot dogs (corn dogs for the vegetarians), cocktails and beer in the foyer, and a bottle of water at the seats.

This was so good, great cast as well, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline, Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas and Mary Steenburgen (looking fabulous). Great chemistry between them. A lovely feel good film, poignant and heartfelt, and also very funny. This is the second viewing for my friend who took me. She wanted to see it again as she enjoyed it so much.

Loved it. 10/10

It was predictable and slightly cheesy but still entertaining and did make me chuckle. I did roll my eyes a few times but the cast saved this from being the cringeworthy disaster it could have been. 7/10.

Meh. This wasn't quite as bad as I feared it to be but it wasn't very good either. I chuckled a few times but like Claire above I can't actually remember any of the "funny" moments now, so they weren't very memorable. I was also very distracted by the bottom half of Michael Douglas' face (I'm sorry Michael), maybe he should consider a beard like Kevin Kline (who I also didn't recognise)? Plus there was one person in the audience laughing extremely loudly throughout the entire film (someone eating food? Hilarious apparently) which was very distracting and grating after a while. The hotdogs and cocktails were great though, as was the company. 6/10

Wow! Now that was a surprise! How good was that? A genuinely brilliant comedy. After so many complete turkeys recently (including Niro in The Family).
This movie just flows. It doesn't come across as contrived in any way. It is so natural that it almost seems ad libbed and improvised in a lot of places. The characters are all individual and portrayed brilliantly without any hint of cliche or stereotype. A heartwarming and humerous portrayal of old age without being condascending in any way. This film has the perfect amount of emotion and plenty of laughs too without resorting to toilet humour. Prick. Asshole. A real feel-good movie. Highly recommended. Oh - and plenty of scenery and cinematography of Las Vegas for those who like that stuff.

Lastly - I so want a shot on that skyscraper roller-coaster!

Back from Glasgow's Vue where there was a good group of FMUKers - Debs1 and OH, McG, Karenlg123, Ploggit and ScooterMcc.

This was actually ok. Not great but not bad either. I can see others comparing this is to The Hangover. Four guys going to Las Vegas for someone's stag party. Only difference is these guys are pension aged. There were a few jokes, lots of booty and a wee story.

Alright, nothing spectacular. Not the best comedy I have seen all year, but not the worst

6.5/10
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."
