Unlike, sb, I did go along to Braehead tonight for a 2nd viewing as (a) there's not many free previews around in Glasgow :crying: (b) It is indeed a light fluffy film and I was in the mood for that kind of entertainment.
I have to say that I did enjoy it even on the 2nd viewing though I can appreciate it's not everyone's cup of tea. I hadn't thought about the similarities to Billy Elliot . . . but can see exactly what you mean, sb!
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley

Mighty glad that I was able to see it this evening, although at Pants Odeon, as I missed it last week. I used to do salsa, so really looking forward to this. They used to run classes at my ex-company's gym. I loved the dance, so vibrant and exhilarating.

Nice to see a few FMUKers, funthing, livi92, tsoiboy, elski. Those guys popped up again, and they sat right next to funthing, where I wanted to sit too, but never mind, tsoiboy, me and my friend had good seats on the other side of the aisle, with no heads in the way!

Well my friend and I enjoyed this. She even spotted a colleague in the scene above the pub doing the salsa class!

It does not leave any lasting impression but it was heart warming, charming and inspiring. I read something afterwards, may be it was on twitter, that "Proof that dancing is the solution to EVERYTHING" and when I googled it again, I found this link: http://www.buzzfeed.com/cubanfury/proof ... everything
Hilarious!!

I did half expect Nick Frost, after all the dancing, to be slimmed down at the end for the comp. hehe. I felt Ian McShane and Olivia Coleman were trying to make something out of their roles, shame their parts were so underused. But a very, very easy watch, just going with the flow, I found it really funny, except the bickering between Nick Frost and Chris O’Dowd, until the car park scene. Everyone groaned when we saw the cameo. 7/10

That is in a different league! I didn't even compare it, or seen the similarities.

A truly, truly awful film. An embarrassment to British film & comedy.

If the writer spent more than 5 minutes on the script I'm a .... no hang on, make that 2 minutes.

Anyone familiar with Balamory on CBeebies will have recognised the Miss Hoolie style recap near the end as the lead told his boss his 'story' in 30 seconds. (BTW Balamory is aimed at the under 5s.) 'Nuff Said.

Noticed in the opening credits that it was Lotto Funded - talented, aspiring film makers out there must despair that this stuff sucks money out of the system.

1/10 and that's for the great music.

Watched this at a packed Basingstoke Odeon, hardly a seat free.

I really enjoyed it, left the cinema with a big smile on my face and would go and see it again. Took my son, aged 15, and he also enjoyed it, especially the cameo...............

After all the serious films lately, I have seen, this was a light hearted film. That said, I too wondered why Nick Frost's character had not lost weight with all the dancing.

I am not sure that Nick Frost or Chris O'Dowd were the right casting for the film, and felt they were trying too hard.
