Bad Neighbours

#1 Post by RAZORBACK » Tue Apr 29, 2014 9:06 pm

Think that the trailers for this look hilarious so hoping I can fit this in during the bank holiday weekend.

To date I've only seen positive reviews for this so :cross: those of you that are going to the preview screenings later this week are in for a positive experience...

P.S does anyone know why it's general release date is on a Saturday?...

Well I thought it was boringly okay. The exact kind of plodding middle of the road frat house comedy I've seen done better a million times.

As always Rose Byrne is fun to watch though.

Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear.
Right. Let's start with the positives: Erm, well. It was short. And Zac Efron has a nice body.
Apart from that I have seen things tonight that no amount of bleaching my eyeballs will get rid of.

God this was bad. Pueril, stupid story, clunky dialogue, trying very hard to be funny but only really succeeding if you are 12 years old. They like gross-out gags. Would a university really b*y a big house in a middle-class neighbourhood for their unruly fraternity students? Are they that stupid? And rich?

And why do I always have to explain to the ushers at Odeon Greenwich how to do their job? They thought it was way too early for an orderly queue and sent everyone away to Costa until I spoke up. And we had security in the screening tonight, pouncing on people with their phones out. Good on them.

Bad neighbours - bad film. Why do I always get the bad films when I am not feeling well in the first place?

Oh Zac - Zac, what have you done?

Back from Glasgow. Personally I thought it was alright. Not great but not bad either. It was hard to describe as it trying to be funny yet serious. Yes I laugh pretty loud at times in particular the airbag incidents. And the baby is cute. Zac is all grown up.

Our security did nothing. Not even to say phones weren't allowed during the film. So got mad and told a woman to put her phone away after the second time she took it out. 6/10

ok premise, maturing stoners versus new gen.

very puerile, it does think its funnier than it is. is saved by rogan and byrne, in other hands it could have been quite bad. with them on board its still sometimes
close to irritating (all the kooky acting hiding the lack of actual comedy) but steers on the side of fun on the whole, so I enjoyed more of it than I disliked. but it desperately needs a re-edit.

very loud movie too. may bring earplugs?

but it does love itself too much - opening scene is a poorly judged over-gross out example. its not funny to simply overgross scenes repeatedly. And no one wants to see Rogan in a nude sex scene, that must be obvious.

some good fun to be had, though a boxed set of GREEK would be infinitely better.

obviously USA frat houses are nothing like this. If they were this irritating in reality, you'd want to deck the committee for starters on Day one(though, posh loud rich students over here can pretty deckable too, don't get me wrong)
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Was OK.
I don't mind puerile films in the least, but this was fun in parts, actually funny in parts and just plain dull in parts. Unfortunately the dull parts were often prolonged and, well dull. THere were some speeches and long exchanges between characters that were tedious. That said, although far from great, it was entertaining, so I have to say that I enjoyed it and was glad I went. Wouldn't rush to see again nor recommend though.

There was simply no point to some gags. They just went no-where. I wonder if there were a lot of censoring and editing that cut certain punchlines? Abercrombie and Fitch??? What the Fitch?

Loved the baby - that gets an extra point.

Zac Effron was just to nice to be taken seriously as a meany, and the hatred turned to friendship all to easily and quickly.

5/10.

Fair to piddling.

Seen tonight in Glasgow with other Fmukers. Some funny parts ie the airbags but on the whole, not up to much.
Very predictable and not that entertaining . . . reminded me of a poor National Lampoon film. The "F" word was probably used more times in this film than any other film I've every seen! :X
Really glad I didn't p*y . . . certainly not worth the cost of a ticket!

I really don't like Seth Rogen, I think he's about as funny as toothache! However I did LOL quite a few times during this film so i'm giving it a 7/10 My 18year old nephew thought it was brilllllliant!

Its always nice to see Zac Efron with his shirt off too!!... ;)
