Kingsman: The Secret Service

#1 Post by prettyxcool » Sun Jan 11, 2015 11:08 pm

Managed to blag a ticket for the 20th Century Fox screening yesterday.

Brilliant! Enjoyed this very much, totally entertaining and absolutely ingenious. Slick, stylish and humorous spy thriller.

All the favourites are there, Colin Firth, the British secret agent, very charming and stylish, Samuel L. Jackson with a comedic lisp, Jack Davenport looking very dapper, Michael Caine and Mark Strong, all excellent.

Newcomer Taron Egerton, as the rebellious teenager new recruit is a future star, last seen as Vera Brittain's brother, Edward in Testament of Youth. Thought the villain's sidekick with those familiar blade legs, played by Sofia Boutella, the Nike Girl, is brilliant.
There are some really creative scenes.

Definitely a 10/10. A day later, I am still buzzing. One that I would want to watch again and again, especially to spot all those cameos, I missed!

Turned away at Stratford Vue due to over subscribing. Only handful of people with SFF tickets allowed in as other invitees had priority. Hoping for SFF to compensate with a voucher or two.

Brilllllliant movie!!! Excellent cast, Colin Firth was sooo smooth. Very funny & witty. Best spy film I've seen in a long time. 10/10 o/

Got there about half 7, 8th in the queue. Then just after 8.10pm they started letting people in, 20 at a time. There were already people inside, comp winners ect? Got our seats up at the back where a wee goody bag was waiting and a MASSIVE Kingsman poster. Bottle of coke, a choc bar and a newspaper related to the film., it's called The Mr Porter Post lol. Felt spoiled!

Thanks to ritamistry who won tickets for the VIP screening at Vue Westfield in White City, I had a chance to see this a second time! It was a screening for comp winners and pa*d tickets. We got a glass of champagne and the same goody bags were on the seats. Same security guards from the premiere with their night vision cameras, telling everyone to switch off their phones. They even put a little bit of red carpet for everyone to walk on to get into the screening.

On second viewing, it seemed more tongue in cheek, but I still think it is ingenious, although, noticed for some reason a lot more swearing this time round. But still thrilling and fun! 10/10

Got a chance to see this last night at the VUE screening in Dublin. Incredible movie! Colin Firth was at his very best and new comer Egerton stole the show with a superb performance. Overall a great popcorn movie with plenty of action and laughs o/ o/ o/

Fantastic film! Really funny and gory - a combination that doesn't work very often. Would definitely watch this again :-D The free alcohol and goodie bags were nice too ;-)

Forgot to mention, at our screening, a lot of people got up and left as soon as the names of the main cast came on the screen, but do stay as there is another scene before the actual credits roll.

Saw this film when it was the premier when it streamed live to London before the start of the film. I had seen the trailer and thought it looked good, it was definitely better than expected thoroughly enjoyed it. A nice take on the usual 007 spy movies. Well worth seeing.

Saw this thanks to Elski. Very funny tongue in cheek comedy which I'm planning to watch again, if not for the sake of trying to spot the cameos.

8/10
