Saw Made in Dagenham at Leeds Showcase last night as i couldn't get to see Inception ( :tears: ) thoroughly miffed but at least i had a free film...so expectations not high. I'm happy to say i called into Ikea and cheered myself up, then going on to enjoy this film.

Some very good acting, funny with a great topic. As mentioned Miranda Richardson as Barbara Castle was fabulous, i could see Queenie from Black Adder peaking through at times..very good!

OK not Inception (sob) but a good way to spend a couple of hours, an 8 out of 10 for me.

Saw this last night, really enjoyed it, I think they had quite a realistic set-up to how Dagenham/Ford looked back then, also my Dad was working there at the time and remembers alot of how it happened. Didn't realise the snowball effect that equal p*y had across England because of this and many other strikes like this!

Only disappointing thing was they showed it a Newham Showcase, first time I have managed to see a preview there, our fault got a little late, cinema was full, we stood up and watched the film! That was definitely a first for us and many other that watched it too.

Never the less, really enjoyed it.

Saw this last night it's about striking to get equal p*y for women. Very good , I was a schoolboy at the time and didn't really appreciate the importance of this event. It's a good look back at the 60's with a lot of good acting especially by Bob Hoskins and it doesn't last too long or be too short.

This sounds good but I couldn't face the trip to Newham Showcase (is it considered Barking now, I used to call that area Beckton). That cinema is so difficult to get to on public transport and even driving, I was worried I'd get stuck on the A13 trying to get there. Wonder if we will get any other opportunities (with alternative cinemas!) to see this soon.

Me too. Hopefully close to central so I can run-off from the lab to cinema in less than an hour!!! :cross:

Pleased to get tickets to see this, after missing out a month or so ago.

Sounds like it has got an interesting story and the cast looks good - similar to a Full Monty or Brassed Off type film.

Me too. I missed it last time round too.
Do you think they've edited it since the last screenings as they are a long way apart?

My apologies - when I copied the code over to the London board I managed to edit the Free Films thread so it looked like it was only London locations! Have amended.
