Saw this movie last night along with a group of other fmuk people.

Really enjoyed it well acted, gritty detective story.

The guy who introduced it said it was a nordic noir film but its in Spanish??

8 / 10

This is a Spanish filmed, filmed in southern Spain marshlands.

It vividly depicts a town on the deep south still anchored in the past on what was the transition from dictatorship to full democracy. Early 80's.

I liked how the way the movie is filmed transfers the viewer the feeling of heat, humidity and sweat.
Performances greatly executed and a brilliant filmography.

Loved the intro credits as something different.

Agreed the 8/10

I really enjoyed this. The atmosphere was fantastic, making for a really gripping situation. The Post Franco context added real depth. The scenery was amazing - and I thought I knew this region. The period detail seemed spot on.

Totally loved this. One of the best films in ages. Addressing a country in a state of flux, and the challenges of change for the new environment. Loads of undercurrents here..

I'm very tempted to give it 10/10... but have opted for 9.5/10.

One of my favourite films this year. The cinematography was stunning. The story and the acting was great. Really tense.

Also one of my favourite films of this year. From start to finish this film has so many layers and back stories I definitely have to watch it again. It's set in some sort of abstract time in which you can't pin point. Brilliantly acted with a solid storyline.

10/10
