Anthropoid
Re: Anthropoid
Really enjoyed this film great acting from cillian Murphy. It really did drive the point home i felt deflated when I came out. Went to see at trafford centre.

Re: Anthropoid
Literally spoiled for me by Radio 4's Front Row, which followed the phrase "we don't want to give away too much", by in fact giving away everything, which meant that much of the potential tension from having no idea what was going to happen was wholly denied us.

Re: Anthropoid
Would have liked much more discussion around the ethical question of whether killing one Nazi was worth the resulting butchery of thousands. Also agree about the accents; unnecessary as I can work out for myself that they wouldn't really be speaking in English. First half very slow and hard going but action sequences were well done. A little disappointing overall.

Re: Anthropoid
5.5/10. Too long, too disjointed, but good acting. I always have the same problem with these films and scenarios that no one can possibly know exactly what happened, what was said or how anyone felt as they all died and it's basically guess work and then being told this is what happened.
Nobody's perfect!!!

Re: Anthropoid
I found this film absorbing from the start. I have always been interested in the stories although most are harrowing of events that took place during the war. I found it to be realistic and enjoyed all the performances from the actors.

Re: Anthropoid
I agree with the above poster. While the accents were a bit problematic, the overall mood and tension during the film was representative of the time. From the first few scenes, I thought it would be a slow-burner but the 2 hours seemed to go by quite quickly. Some good performances by the leads and good to see Toby Jones again... he seems to be in everything I watch
Oh, I think other posters may have found the film disjointed as there wasn't any indication of the time that passed between scenes. This was probably intentional so as not to lose the tension that was developed from the first scene through to the last.
Overall surprising good and would recommend.

Re: Anthropoid
I saw this today as I have a feeling it will disappear from the cinema soon. I found it to be really absorbing throughout and really enjoyed the film, if that doesn't sound odd for a film about war/assassination/killing. I thought the acting was very good throughout. Yes, the final scenes are blood spattered but war is like that. I would definitely say it is worth seeing!
