Their Finest

#1 Post by jax100 » Tue Apr 11, 2017 3:33 pm

Hello I'm new here. I did try checking to make sure there wasn't a previous topic for "Their Finest" so I hope it's okay to start one.

I went to see the film last night, and I have to say I was very impressed. I laughed repeatedly and felt my emotions being tugged at the sad parts. Who ever was incharge of costume and set design did a fantastic job. I would willingly go again to see this again. Very few films these days make me regret the loss of the good old days, when you could stay in your seat and watch the film a second or third time, with out p*ying again. But Their Finest would have been worthy of a second immediate watch.
I would love to say more about the film, but don't want to write any spoilers yet as a lot of people have yet to watch it.

I quite enjoyed it although i wasn't expecting much, my mum enjoyed it quite a bit..I thought bill nighy was fantastic in it...It did feel a little slow at times and some of it was a little cliché ..But overall was a fun film, and one of those nice rainy Sunday afternoon films you can pop on in the background

I have been tonight, really enjoyed the film and would agree especially loved the 'costumes'. Definitely a movie I could watch again.:-)

Beige.
Improved on a second viewing, but still beige. Perhaps worthy of a Sunday evening on bbc2, but not really worth a night out to the cinema.

I quite enjoyed this wartime drama but found it slow in parts. The acting and cinematography were good. Bill Nighy was very good and what a lovely singing voice he has.
A fairly entertaining film but nothing really special. 6/10

If you liked Dads Army film you will enjoy this. Aimed at the same audience - decent film I thought

A decent film indeed. Though slow in parts, I still enjoyed the film. Very impressed with Bill Nighy's singing voice.

Cringing slightly at her accent but an alright film, as said a rainy sunday afternoon film. OH thought it was a 'turkey', didn't like it. A tad long. Surprised by Bill's singing, although he did sing in Love Actually I think. 6/10

Went to see this last night. Cinema was full and there was a good atmosphere. Film was enjoyable - I felt the time went quite quickly. Bill Nighy was good - played the same sort of character that he always does. Some good attention to detail of the wartime period. Probably give it 8/10
