An AMerican style Line of Duty, complete with bangs and bucks instead of brains. Straight-to-DVD back in the day. At least it maintains its pace amidst a sea of predictability, impossibilities and unintentional laughs. Jamie fox's character has to be a terminator robot in disguise the damage he picks up from knives, guns fist fights and he just gets up and drives off. Its that kind of cop movie, where the action cuts for dramatic cityscape views every 10 minutes.
3 stars if you treat it like an unintentional comedy.

Re: Sleepless
I went to see this knowing nothing about it except that Jamie Foxx was the star. I really enjoyed the film and thought it was a reasonable good story albeit we have seen many films with a similar theme. I was entertained and that's what matters to me on a Wednesday afternoon when I want to escape reality!

Re: Sleepless
Unfortunately, it breaches the threshhold of implausibilty too much, too often.
When you find yourself thinking, "But what?", "But how?", or just plain "NO!" - then it's lost. It felt like something Channel 5 would have put out on a Friday evening.
However, I would be interested to see the French original, in case this is yet another example of a US remake ruining a good foreign film.
