The Lego Ninjago Movie

#1 Post by yogi » Thu Oct 05, 2017 8:33 am

The battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, also secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat the evil warlord Garmadon, who also happens to be Lloyd's dad. Pitting father against son, the epic showdown tests these fierce but undisciplined modern-day ninjas as they learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash the inner power of Spinjitzu.

This was good fun, but didn't quite live up to the very high standards of the first two Lego movies. 7/10

Agree yogi grandson enjoyed it but not as much as the first lego movie. He did enjoy the freebie key ring though.

If you don't mind watching kid's films but think they'd be much more enjoyable if they had jokes about the 'Tom Hardy driving from Birmingham to London' movie Locke, then The LEGO Ninjago Movie is the film for you.
Also if you're a Jim Croce fan you'll be in hog heaven.
Those slightly odd references aside the film is pretty much what you'd expect.
Solid family entertainment with some decent laughs and a great vocal performance from Justin Theroux as the bad guy.
Not quite the equal of the previous two LEGO movies but worth a look.

I won a family screening of this and a Spinjitsu masterclass with the Olympic Gold Medalist, Jade Jones. Took a long time for the start of the masterclass. The kids got bored and just wanted to go and see the film. Some of the lego characters were also there. Jade Jones showed some moves, and everyone copied. It was quite fun except the hanging around for the start.

The film was fun and enjoyable but a massive promotion for the Lego Ninja. Some good moments but mostly too repetitive though. Lots of cheesy and cliched scenes. However, have a soft spot for Jackie Chan as Master Wu. 7/10
