Bonkers! I thought James Franco was excellent. I wasn't so convinced by a Dave Franco. They went to a heck of a lot effort to get it right and it pa*d off. I wasn't convinced I'd enjoy it from the synopsis, but I'm glad I went.

An amazing performance by James Franco. I had not heard of the cult phenomenon that is The Room prior to seeing this film. I wish I had seen the original before seeing The Disaster Artist. However, judging by the end credits the film remained painstakingly true to Tommy Wiseau's film. I wasn't sure what to make of this film and would perhaps class it as a tragicomedy. Whilst there are many comedic moments there is also a sense of poignancy and pathos to James Franco's character.

Re: The Disaster Artist
good movie about a genuinely wierd creepy guy, suprised such subject matter was absorbing and fun. Freak of the week stuff.
The cinema was packed with teenagers who must either love franco or Tommy W. I guess theres a kind of positive message that even a total loser can make it if he keeps trying (and is a multimillionaire too)
4 stars.

Re: The Disaster Artist
I really enjoyed this film I thought it was hilarious and I was not familiar with the film the Room. The film based on a true account of Johnny Wiseau making a really bad film which has now actually made a profit seems at times to be unbelievable. He comes across as delusional and a bit simple although very rich but I did spend most of the film trying to work out who he was. It does make me want to go and watch the film now. 7/10

Re: The Disaster Artist
I thought it was great. Tommy is such an oddity you can easily mock or hate him at points during this film but also feel incredibly sorry for him. He's misunderstood but mean, aloof and possessive of Greg. It would be good to get the actual true story of his background one day.
James Franco was brilliant, the look, the accent. All spot on. The film works as a comedy drama and you wouldn't neccesarily have to have watched The Room beforehand, but I bet you would want to afterwards. 9/10

Re: The Disaster Artist
Saw this at Finchley Rd, London. Really really loved it. Its so funny and touching in an odd way. James Franco is really excellent and there are so many funny moments. Amazing to think it all happened and the result is the even more bonkers The Room!
Re: The Disaster Artist
Had not seen the Room in advance of watching this (will watch it now!). Thoroughly enjoyed the film, lots of laugh out loud moments. 7/10

Brilliant 9/10
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"
A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

Wasn't sure about this before I went, but was very pleasantly suprised and ended up really enjoying it. James Franco had obviously studied his part to the extreme as when the end credits came up and we were entertained with snippets from the real film and people, you would have been hard pressed to pick out any times where James Franco was not a carbon copy of Tommy. Highly recommend. 8/10

Amazing! I arrived thinking I would hate this movie but after twenty minutes I started giggling, smiling and even laughing. What an incredibly good idea to make a fun film about a very bad movie.... loved it. Original!
