Aspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family's ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.

For most of the film I was enjoying this as an fun, colourful, beautifully looking adventure with a few laughs and a comedy sidekick dog, but towards the end everything comes together and the film delivers a real emotional kick and becomes something really special.

Wonderful, the best Pixar for a few years. Bring tissues. 9/10

I'd definitely agree with yogi about this being the best Pixar film for years. Great storyline and music. I loved all the characters, particularly Miguel and Dante the dog. I'm not sure how much understanding small children will have about all the skeletons but think they could be a little scared about

It is interesting as a film to see some of the traditions and family relationship in the Mexican culture rather than the US. I would definitely recommend this film and can't wait to see it again!

I was scared never mind kids! Because if you take things at face value

everybody only has about three generations of existence? Nobody remembers you physically after that and who celebrates every generation of their family tree.
Technically impressive but the complexity of the story is almost hidden by a routine chase caper. I think it would have benefited being aimed at older children because it's almost insulting when you're keeping part of the audience entertained by a dumb dog against the backdrop of a really heavy message that could have had a huge impact if events were ordered a little differently and not undermined.

I'm a lover of Mexican culture especially Day of the Dead so was super excited to see this film. I had watched the Book of Life when it came out and enjoyed that.

I have to say I preferred Coco! Just as visually stunning and entertaining. What made it better was the emotional intensity of the latter half of the film, it was very powerful. I really enjoyed the family aspect, it was different from many romance driven films.

I had a second viewing of Coco yesterday . . .one advantage of a Limitless card . . .and have to say I loved as much if not more! I would still be cautious re the age or personality of some kids as I could see some being disturbed by some of the themes. I, however, thought it was a great film by Pixar and could happily watch it again!

We took our 6yr old niece to see Coco yesterday. I had worried it might be a bit scary for her, especially after she had trouble with the very minor menace of the showdown in Storks last year, but was all good. The skeletons are so colourful and friendly thats there isn't anything much to be concerned about. As with all pixar films, it was great for adults too and I really enjoyed the story. One gripe though, for a film with music at the core, it totally lacks a decent song. 8/10
