Just one word...AWESOME! Great storyline, humour and anticipation! If you are a videogame fan you will love it! 10/10

first half was pantsish.

2nd half was fun, left youwith that spielberg zing on leaving the cinema.

tis a family/kids movie really. these kids may be able to save the virtual world but can they fry an egg, hmm?

evil corporate assassin woman was a bit pointless, felt like she was in there just to mimic bladerunners evil corporate assassin woman.

Probably needs IMAX to get the full benefit of the virtual world scenes and 3D for the effects which felt a bit jaded in 2D.

3.5 stars.

bit wierd how spielberg could get the rights to all sorts of movies, even limited use of star wars, but he wasnt able to nclude references to his own 70s movie Close Encounters.

He could, he just didn't really want to be that guy who mentions his own films :nono:

Originally I attempted to put my actual review on. Hopefully this posts in full.

Any of you hesitating to see it Ready Player One is a GIANT slice of nostalgia for those 80s & 90s fans. From the offset Spielberg sets up the premise and we are quickly thrown into the Oasis and the first challenge. Throughout our truly adrenaline filled feast for the eyes and ears you are enveloped by the sheer size of the work under taken throughout. Lots of film, tv and game cameos that forever evolve and the game keeps a steady pace throughout. A mock look at the internet with some great manga style characters, script and overall references to it being your own world that you build. A dazzlingly fun film that reeks of the cross between the real and virtual. A film that anyone 20-40 yrs old would love. Enjoy!
