Re: I feel pretty
Thanks for the review. I'm seeing this film on Monday at Wimbledon odeon. The trailer looks really good and the actress is very funny and a good actress I think.

I'm not sure I thought it was that funny. I really like Amy and she's hilarious in other films. All the acting was excellent. I'm not one for political correctness in a huge way and the film got there in the end but I thought it was controversial. 6/10

Re: I feel pretty
was ok, but nowhere near an Ugly Betty episode, not for a minute. I know it wasnt the same thing, but thats no excuse for being a little saggy in the middle. romcom should mean plenty of comic moments.
Diluted Ugly Betty, mixed with one part Shallow Hal - 3 stars. Maybe an extra half for being relatively kind to men, that was thoughtful. In fact, theres no "baddies", quite refreshing.
The film sound cut out half way at wimbledon, took a while to get started.

Re: I Feel Pretty
Saw this last night at Wimbledon Odeon. I enjoyed the film more than I thought I would. It wasn’t brilliant but also wasn’t completely terrible. Amy Schumer was the ideal choice to play Renee, an awkward self-conscious nobody who suddenly gets imbued with self-confidence. It was funny watching the transition between the two different sides of her. Michelle Williams was totally weird as the squeaky-voiced CEO – to me she looked like a Mary Hopkin clone (showing my age here!).
The screening was a bit of a farce as a good dozen or so of us were already seated in Screen 10, when we were all told to leave and queue up again in the foyer – because (we were told) that the previous film hadn’t finished. Screen 10 wasn’t actually showing a film – so we couldn’t really understand what that was all about. And then – about 50 minutes into the film the sound suddenly became inaudible – very muffled and bubbly. It took a good half hour for this to be fixed – and unfortunately, for me anyway, this caused the film to lose its momentum.

This was a nice easy movie to watch, and it was funny. Although it was a bit far fetched to have us believe a knock on the head can make you believe you're all that and then some!!! Lol

interesting that we never see what she "sees" herself as after the knock.

Re: I Feel Pretty
Wow. What a lame film. There's one minuscule jokette that is milked endlessly for nearly 2 hours. I'd really love to see Amy Shu-thing doing stand up as I'm sure she's hilarious, but in these scripted (or is it improv - either way it doesn't work) films she's rubbish.
This is a girlie film for girlie-type people.
I Feel....Shortchanged.
Surely the Brother Le Clair was Dermot O'Leary!!!
And who spotted McG as Producer in the opening credits?
She's amazing is our McG!
