Avengers Infinity War 1
No idea why we are playing the "Lets see who will post an Infinity War thread first" game but this film rocks.
The one real fault is the almost complete lack of exposition, and whilst the previous movies cover that for the Avengers themselves, theres not a lot of back story for the mutha of all baddies or even his "children" captains. So much like Lord of the rings/Harry Potter Part 1/2, its not intended at all as a standalone movie, but that must be obvious to anyone with any knowledge of the Marvel Universe. That aside, awesome for fans.
Gamoraaaa! Poor Starlord was so sad that he forgot to do dance-off to easily beat Thanos. Probably a good thing though as that would mean no part 2, maybe he'll remember to dance in that movie.
5 stars. The unfortunate downside is that this will clog up multiple screening rooms in each cinema for a good few weeks to come.

6.5/10 - good set pieces but multi-strand is always tricky to pull off really well.

Given that i read the stuff, i understand why they would have problems with him worshiping The big D and putting the complex comic characters in here.. But on the whole i felt they did well to generate a story with some logic in it and welding the vast number of superteams . Bring on part two! 7/10

Seriously worth seeing. It was great to watch characters working together. Superb music and actions beyond amazing! It was incredible, from start to finish.

Re: Avengers Infinity War 1
Ten years in the making and 18 films as its back story, brings us to the climax of Infinity War Part 1
What can I add. Just blown away! It is funny, it is sad, it is heartbreaking. It is also much darker. All your fave characters that you care about and love, are brought together, on the same screen, by the endlessly talented cast. A story that is terrifying and an ending that is so haunting, that you just want to see more. The script is brilliant, the CGI is brilliant, the twists are brilliant, totally engrossing. Cannot wait to see the final part of this two parter.

I went to the fan event, and then the multi-media screening, and they drummed into us #Thanosdemandsoursilence so much, so I forgot to post after the embargo was lifted!raj101 wrote:No idea why we are playing the "Lets see who will post an Infinity War thread first" game but this film rocks.

Re: Avengers Infinity War 1
The scope and scale of the film is astonishing, but to make it funny and dramatic and above all coherent is even more impressive.
Each character gets a moments or two, some more than others, and it's nice to see some pair ups / interactions that we haven't seen before and even at well over two hours it's an exhilarating watch.
Really keen to see it again, probably in Imax next time 9/10

Re: Avengers Infinity War 1
I saw this the other day (I know, shock horror, I actually made it to the cinema this year!) and enjoyed it. As has already been pointed out by raj101 there was a lot of background that wasn't re-explained in the film, but that wasn't a problem for me.
I've always liked Chris Hemsworth's portrayal of Thor as a kindly if not particularly intelligent god and laughed a lot at his lines.
I assume that they'll deal with the events of Infinity War in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at some point, so look forward to seeing the crossover.
Doesn't feel like a standalone both from the background required and the ending, so probably not one for those ambivalent about/new to Marvel.
