1 star, perhaps 2 if you are a fan of the series, but this is way too far removed from the excellent original movie.

Completely agree!

The original was fantastic, but since then none have lived up to it. I thought M:I 3 was a good enough film on its own, but the rest are just mindless action films with set pieces for the sake of set pieces.

Personally I'd rate them:

Mission: Impossible - 9/10
Mission: Impossible 3 - 8/10
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation - 5.5/10
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol - 5/10
Mission: Impossible - Fallout - 5/10
Mission: Impossible 2 - 5/10

Good lord, couldn’t be more opposite to that opinion, think most would disagree with you above but each to own, some people think Mamma Mia is good

Thankfully general consensus has Mi films getting better each time and hopefully another gets made altho truly don’t know how they’ll top Fallout.

One thing for sure, MI > Bond, especially any since Brosnan started up. Yuk.

Just thought I'd post my 2 cents.
This is one of the best action movies I've seen in the last 5 years, if not THE best.

An easy 9/10.

i''ll admit its not as bad as i made out last time cos i slept through some of it then. it ends well, and at least the IMF team are nice guys, theres nothing wrong with just being nice, too many films feel compelled to create dodgy flawed "heroes" too often.

but therein lies the issue, impossible mission movies are about ambivalent characters. its not really MI, its a good guy action flick with only one of those "ambiguous" scenes towards the end.

i'll go three stars as it ends well, makes up for the poor start.
