Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

#1 Post by scootermcc » Mon Jul 23, 2018 7:37 pm

If you’re going to see Mama Mia ! Here We Go Again there’s a short clip after the credits.

Great fun and made all the more enjoyable by keeping Pierce Brosnan’s singing to a minimum.

9/10

Think I preferred the first film. This was for me a bit OTT and the "Waterloo" scene was stupid. Loved the Dancin Queen. But will probably go and watch it again to see if my opinion changes.

I saw it on Friday and am having a second viewing tomorrow with a different group of friends. It's not as good as the first film possibly because the first one was original. However, it was still a fun film with great music.

I absolutely loved this. I laughed, I cried and I hummed and sang along. Beautiful. All the songs were wonderful, even the lesser known ones. I laughed like a drain when young Harry sang Waterloo. But Cher was totally shoehorned in. I like Fernando but her strange voice's wrong for it. She could have been entirely left out without harming the film in the slightest.

Still, 9/10, because it gets you in the feels. o/

So, so lucky to win premiere tickets. All the legends were there. What an amazing cast with Cher and Meryl Streep, as mother and daughter(!), and Lily James capturing the young Donna really well.

I loved it and it seems, everyone did too, and by the end everyone was on their feet, clapping and singing along. I thought it is an ingenious storyline, to fit round the songs! Loved all the characters. Not totally perfect, but well worth seeing again! A very infectious, feel good film. 9/10

We were embargoed, but don't know why, when the reviews were out already! ;)

Does anyone know if the Hammersmith Apollo has had an overhaul? As the screen is now huge and the balcony seats does not look so far away from the stage. The last time I was there for a screening, we were stuck up in the Gods, and the screen was the size of a postage stamp, hence we we stuck on the balcony and all the talent was in Stalls! But this time all the Legends were on the balcony and we could actually see them there too.

Horrific in every sense. Church scene one of the worst ever scenes filmed. Acting poor, singing awful. Truly a mess of a film. 0/5
