The House With A Clock In Its Walls

#1 Post by stuartboy » Wed Sep 19, 2018 6:18 pm

What a great film. Totally absorbing and engaging. Very much a cross between Hugo and Fantastic Beasts. Loved the wee guy with his goggles! Thoroughly enjoyed escaping into the film.
Highly recommended. Loved it.

I watched this yesterday and found it to be very enjoyable . . . .a great film for young teens and older children as it has lots of wonderful things happening including some 'scary' things but not as in horror films. I really enjoyed it and will happily watch again . . .it's a rollercoaster of a film!

Was good but found it a little too long (not sure on the running time, just felt long). Not one to rewatch tbh.

2/5.

very competent, kooky kids movie, but no surprises, has a very classic 70s American feel (ie film made in 70s as regards humour, script, acting etc, not actual period its set in) to it except for the glaring inclusion of "brown" people as totally nice people in it gives away its real age.

4 stars for them, 3.5 for me.

I had a 2nd viewing of this on Thursday and still found it hugely entertaining . . .maybe it's the child in me!?! I think it would be a great film to take kids to around Hallowe'en.

I went to see this movie at the BFI IMAX, literally jumped on the tickets when they were released (I'm not even kidding, I was waiting for the IMAX to finally put some screenings of this movie so when I saw their FB post I had to get my ticket as quickly as possible as to not miss out), and I have to say I really loved every second of this movie! It was both entertaining and well made, I loved all the CGI and even the young actor was touching.

I highly recommend if you like this genre of movies!
