Really enjoyed this, people were praising big time on the way out. Music was great. Cooper career best for him, and Gaga can defo act.

Reviews spot on, deserved praise, and will be up for Oscars no doubt.

Solid 4/5 and absolutely re-watchable.

ps - so funny on this forum how movies which are loved are disliked on this forum and vice-versa. Each to own o/

Saw this in Wimbledon Odeon. I have seen both the Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand versions, so, knew the story – a superstar at the end of his career and a newcomer right at the beginning of hers. I was absolutely blown away by Lady Gaga – she can really sing and can really act. I read some of the background blurb afterwards and was surprised to learn that she insisted on both her and Bradley Cooper singing live – i.e. not overdubbing afterwards. It was long, but I was mesmerised, so wasn’t continually looking at my watch. It was a shame that Lady Gaga hadn’t written the songs. 9/10

So what were the continual nose references about? If BS was just third in line to play the part was she chosen because of her konk?
And was Lady's nose prostheticed or cgi'd especially?
I'm just being nosey! Boom boom.

Wow. So Bradley really can sing. I'm very impressed.

Went to watch this tonight at showcase Nottingham. Not seen the original version before so had no idea of the storyline. Lady Gaga was not only an amazing singer but she’s a damn good actress too. I have a soft spot for Bradley cooper but he didn’t do justice to his role in this film.
Lady Gaga belted some great tunes out, film was pleasantly enjoyable if a little predictable.
Overall score 4/5

Too long. Didn't like Lady Gaga's voice or songs much, and I'm really missing the Barbra Streisand version even though I've never seen it - but boy, can I see Barbra in this.

Loved the minutiae, learned to appreciate the loud music as it meant I didn't have to listen to somebody breathing, the sketchy nature of the second half means it avoids a lot of cliches but I also missed the ultimate point, it didn't really have much impact as the story of the falling star wasn't handled as well as the rising star.

I enjoyed this but it wasn't as good as the hype in my opinion.
I thought Bradley Cooper was excellent and Lada Blah Blah also did a good job for the most part. I much preferred her big voice and country songs, the pop princess stuff was pants!
