Just caught it again on IMAX and enjoyed it just as much as the first time.

On second viewing realised more how sad Freddie Mercury’s life actually was.

I didn’t see that at all, thought it was Queen patting themselves on back throughout. Also the films hints at why Freddie did Live Aid which is complete tosh because he wasn’t even diagnosed with HIV after way after Live Aid, which few people pointed out at screening I was at. Very poor taste.

And strangely you don’t mention metascore on IMDB of 49 :P . Tbf most of that 86% IMDB will be Queen fanboys who’d give it 10/10 no matter what, IMDB scoring tends to be same when film is released, fanboys give 10/10, like Marvel fans, but in a few weeks when more general public have seen it, tend to get a more balanced view, be amazed if it’s above RT score as it’s being hammered on social media.

You seemed to like it, it shouldn’t matter that it’s being panned, im just saying i agree with the reviews on this film, and found the Live Aid reasoning very tasteless. The guy who plays Freddie imo is the only positive, he’s v good.

This film must have really rattled you in some way as you have now made 6 comments about it, tonethestone. I think we got your opinion in your first post and I've no idea why you keep feeling compelled to force your opinion on anyone who'll listen.
This must be a record for the most reviews by one person on any film particularly after one viewing.
Live and let live and take a chill pill, please.

Not at all, thought this was a “film discussion” forum?! Do we all have to agree, or agree with you?! I was after what people liked about the film as I didn’t get it at all and just interested what people liked but you seem to be rattled because film has bad reviews. I looked back at what I posted and said nothing wrong.

Should perhaps take own advice and take a chill pill. o/

Anyway I best stay off this thread in case I say something negative about the film and trying to have a discussion about it. Wrong place I guess.

FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC!
My whole body is aching from all the shivers up my spine throughout. My biggest goosebump was when they showed a concert in Edinburgh in 1976 and I realised that we were all sitting next door - only a few feet away from where this happened! Amazingly convincing performances. I have no idea how much (if any) real footage was used during this, but I found it very hard to tell. Sterling performances from The Fred and Brian May especially. Aiden Gillen's Scottish accent left a lot to he desired though. Ha!
I could have watched this for another hour easily. Our audience applauded at the end, and well deserved it was too.
From the very start I loved this. From the Vue voice over that usually says, "Hello! Amazing what a little darkness does...", it finished with "Sit back....and escape from reality!" Instead of the normal "and switch off from he outside world". Genius!

Maybe not the best film of the year, but certainly the one I have enjoyed most. Definitely the best and most convincing musical biopic ever.
I vote for a posthumous knighthood for Freddie!

Brilliant.

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)

I had my 3rd viewing yesterday . . .and love it even more each time I've watched it. I've watched it with different groups of friends each who have all loved it too.
I think viewing number 4 will not be too far away . . .
Btw Aiden Gillen, playing John Reid, should have sounded like me though he definitely didn't! . . . .as he's from my hometown of Paisley and went to boy's school my brothrr went to.
