Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

#1 Post by RandomHajile » Thu Nov 29, 2018 1:27 pm

hate to say it but prob the best spiderman movie (which lets face it, is not that hard)

the imax screening last night was packed, me and my friend managed to get the back row as was expecting it to be wide cinemascope ratio but was surprised to see they've done that imax 1.90 ratio thing thru out the movie (so the picture is taller than what the normal cinemas get) which helps a lot as the movie is pretty hectic and takes 10min or so to get used to at the start.

prob going to have an epilepsy warning on the movie!
but i did love all that "kirby krackle" thru out the action

there is a "misalignment" effect that caught me and a few people by surprise, feels like you take off your glasses during a 3d movie, i know its ment to represent misaligned printed comic books but as ive seen so many 3d movies i kept doubting they were playing the correct version :(

midcredit tribute

one end credit scene

man from sony said that thursday 6th preview proceeds all go to medi-cinema charity so will def see again

8/10

After seeing such rave reviews I was looking forward to this. Good film, nothing special, doesn’t warrant the rave reviews imo, animation is great & original but had a couple of issues with the film but won’t divulge as involves spoilers. 2.5/5

Top Gun Maverick
MI 7 & 8

After the drab first five minutes this picks up handsomely, though the colour palette might be too much for some eyes.

Awesomely inventive.Is this a Banksy?

4.5 stars. Will see it in 3d soon. Though the ticket said this was a 2D screening, we had a mysterious amount of tiny 4 year old spidermen rolling around the screening room. They must have been special effects since they werent watching the movie for one minute.

Saw this in 3D! Awesome. If you can catch it in this format, it was born to be made in it.

One thing that really bothers me was how old Peter Parker was visibly grey and older but they had MJ as still young and perfect, which is silly, cmon esp a redhead ages pretty quick in real life (though they r just as fit at any age). I guess this is what you get for men drawing the animation.

I also went in with great expectations and was underwhelmed.

It had the potential to be amazing but they just dangle a lot of interesting threads without fully investing in any of them.

They could have spun all of Spiderman movie history together and created two distinct worlds, one live action one animated and drawn a line under all of the reboots. It could have been funnier, it could have had spectacular action but it feels like they give every element a couple of moments and move on. There are characters who have more impact on the animation style than they do on the plot and villains that do hardly anything.

The 3D effect in 2D showings is really annoying so it's probably best enjoyed in 3D, at home or by growing young.

Worthy of all the best animation awards it's getting.

again, the best Spidey ever and one of the best superhero genre movies ever. Lots of stuff I missed on 1st and 2nd viewing too.

Odeon are doing some IMAX 3d screenings this week, and I may be tempted to spend on it.
