Instant Family

I really liked this very sweet family comedy..

What a rollercoaster of emotions, it's humorous, heartbreaking and heartwarming. Based on a true story, about a couple wanting to foster three children, and the challenges they faced. I cried, I laughed, but at the same time, it was very sad with so many children without parents or a family, but during the credits, photos of so many successful adoptions in real life. Take your hankies. 9/10

Typical American story with the children being the least family traumatised kids possible. More like spoilt American brats thus making it impossible to believe this story. Not the worst of films but certainly not the best.

I went into this fearing the worst but was immediately drawn into it.
You'd have to have a very cold heart not to be affected by the vulnerability of all three children.
I have to admit that cinema dust got in my eyes more than once. Loved seeing the photos of real life people involved in adoption too.

yeh you have to see these films with a kind of eye on who is making them, hollywood, a rich area where most kids are spoilt so all of their movies will have a brattology about all their movies, since they are made by brattish groups of people, thats what actors and writers there are like. Its like going to a posh university med school and you notice the teaching sessions are full of rich kids, but the cases they discuss and treat are real, often very sad events, thats what I mean, is that well put across? The actual story here is quite touching if you look behind the Hollywood dressing.

I dont know why people are too stupid not to adopt more often in real life, it would solve a lot of the problems of this cruddy world.

Saw this in a half-full Wimbledon Odeon. A predictable, light-hearted comedy, starring Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne, about the trials and tribulations of adopting older kids. It won’t win any awards and will probably find itself on Netflix within six months, but it’s an OK Sunday afternoon watch when you’ve watched everything else on your list. 5/10

I found this a very enjoyable watch as I think it gave a reasonable picture of fostering and adoption and the people who get involved in it and why. Great acting from all the characters, particularly the children, who were each having different issues having been in the system. Ok it does have an ending of "they all lived happily ever after" which sadly is often not the case.
One friend who was with me has had 2 adopted grandsons via her son & wife and she seemed to think it was a really good film and said she would definitely recommend it to her son & wife.

Predictable and full of American cheesy lines but nevertheless a heartwarming film with some laugh out loud moments. Anyone who is involved with foster children will relate to this film as it is not an easy task dealing with children who have had a bad start in life. 7/10

Emotional rollercoaster: laughed from first scene till the end, cried twice in between (and I am not easy!), and even got angry at one point...all in one film! Loved it! Storyline holds all the way through, every character has been well-thought (based on true story!). It was nice to see the pictures of the real people at the end! 10/10

Not a comedy. It was a drama, albeit with a lighthearted touch.
I quite enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed this movie! Sweet and sad with some LOL moments. 'Someones knocking at the door, someone's ringing the bell'....the only time where I've enjoyed that song rather than in that stupid gambling advert! :bwl: 8/10
