Mid90s

#1 Post by stuartboy » Thu Apr 11, 2019 12:33 am

Found this rather underwhelming and unfulfilling. Not very long and nothing much actually happens. A lot of the footage comes across like a fly on the wall documentary and it seems to be unscripted and ad libbed. That it is set in the mid90s is hardly noticeable nor really relevant to anything. A couple of well shot action sequences do little to offset the waiting for anything to happen and the viscous bullying from the brother seem far worse due to ridiculously exaggerated sound effects - bone-splitting smashing sounds associated with punches that don't appear to cause any lasting injury are just plain daft.
No idea why this was shot in a 4:3 format either. So TV back then was in this ratio, but cinema never was. Bit annoying watching a cinema screen where nearly 50% of it was black.

Couldn't be bothered watching this again. I'm sorry.

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)

Sometimes I sits and thinks....and sometimes I just sits.
