Aladdin

Really loved this live action re-make.

The leads are brilliant, and Will Smith makes a great genie. Loved everything, the costumes, the humour, the music and the special effects, they are all amazing. A must see, again and again!

Saw it twice already, before embargoed was lifted! Second time on IMAX, and yes even better.

The theatre production was brilliant too, so quite surprised, that it is due to end on 31 August 2019, making way for Mary Poppins.

Love the original but this did nothing for me. Jasmine is great, but Jafar has been completely destroyed, about as villainous as Minnie Mouse.

Will Smith is ok when in natural mode but when he’s the genie it’s a mess, really bad CGI, and very noticeable when he moves especially during musical numbers.

2/5

As a massive fan of the original Disney animation, this film had big shoes to fill, but I absolutely loved it!

Great performances by the entire cast kept me spell-bound throughout. The special effects were amazing and I can easily out of the cinema winding and dancing.

A must watch for all the family.

I've now seen Aladdin twice over the past week with different friends. I wasn't overly impressed on the first viewing but definitely liked it better on the 2nd viewing. I don't think it's suitable for under 5s and agree with some of the above comments, both positive and negative. I loved the costumes and acting. I did think Jafar could have done with being slightly 'badder' but that's a minor negative.

I was a bit skeptic at first when I saw the trailers, especially as I'm not sure why Disney wants to remake all their great animated films (I mean a part for the money, obviously!), so I went to see it without much expectations... and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised! I had a good time watching it, Will Smith performance is really what I take from this movie as I was afraid it wouldn't be as good without Robin Williams, but Smith really put some efforts into the character to make it his, and I appreciate that.

Wasn't looking forward to this but went and actually enjoyed it, 3/5. But Robin still the better Genie.
