Godzilla King of the Monsters

#1 Post by tonethestone » Wed May 29, 2019 10:43 am

Another awful Godzilla film, this is even worse than the version in the 90's. Michael Bay fans will be in their element, but for the rest of us who look good writing acting and some sense of whats going on, its truly awful.
Action is just going on, no idea whats happening or why. Worst film i have seen so far this year. 1/5.
Upcoming films want to see;
Top Gun Maverick
MI 7 & 8
The Many Saints of Newark
Ghostbusters : Afterlife

Best films seen recently;
Tenet
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
In The Heights
A Quiet Place 2

I liked it. It's mindless, it's epic and it's silly. I did find it quite a mess, but go with the flow, and you have an enjoyable big summer blockbuster, with impressive monsters fighting, if that is your thing. Long live the King! My friend's 11 year old kid enjoyed it and my OH, normally very critical, liked it too! :D 7/10

Worth watching this before seeing it

There’s a small scene after the credits

I found it quite easy to follow. Are people aware it is a sequel in a shared universe? Ha. 7/10.

It’s worth reading the newspaper headlines that come up during the end credits as it sets up the story for next years sequel

I wasn't aware this movie was a sequel - I went to see it more because I had nothing better to do on Saturday and it was a good occasion to use my Odeon card - so I was a bit lost at first, but I guess the film is ok overall if one likes those kind of movies...

meh on most fronts but finally things do pick up -if you havent walked out of the poorly acted, lightly scripted nonsense - in the last hour when the showdowns get under way. Acting in this movie seems to consist of speechless closeups of peoples faces with massive constipation problems.

2stars? Might be literally a better film if you walk in 45 minutes late, it will save being lumbered by the laughable plot. . I didnt get the motivation for being evil for Gideon,Nora and the "Nameless Head".
