Jumanji: next level
Saw this yesterday at the odeon as they were doing advanced screenings of it. I really enjoyed it and i actually thought it was better than the first one i would recommend it to a friend. I would give it a 8/10.

Re: Jumanji: next level
Saw it at an early screening at Odeon... thought it was long, slow, and pretty boring. Preferred the first one by far, and really hoping they don't make a 3rd, though based on the ending it's very likely they will

Do you have to have seen the first one?

Re: Jumanji: next level
I think it would help to have seen the first one as it follows on from the first one and you would already know the background/relationships of the characters.

You could watch it without watching the previous ones as, although same characters are involved, each story stands on its own, Beate.

Re: Jumanji: next level
I'm glad I went - this film was so much silly fun! And the premise is so simple - people who were somehow drawn into a videogame once before, do so again, only this time with some hangers on, and no one got to choose their character so the outcome is pretty funny. And I love Dwayne Johnson!
The audience however - Christ on a bike. The screening was full and the screen quite low so lots of heads in the way all the time - with a special shout out to the kids who never removed their bobblehats, the little morons. If at least everyone had sat still, but no, lots of wriggling and going to the loo - and not just the kids!
Still 9/10 for the film

Re: Jumanji: next level
i concur, film is real good. There are a few references to the previous movie. Introducing Nora Lum to the gang, she was clearly having a lot of fun. And bobblehats must be destroyed, will bring scissors next time.I am not sure why adult wear them too, they look like nobs.
Worked well in 2DX, almost like putting on VR goggles. nice touch, though this format may not suit other kinds of movies well.
4 star
