Standard fare popcorn movie not much more. Shame really, the idea could have been way more exploited better. Some of the actors lacked a punch or plot resolution. But it chock-full of effects, so its pretty enough to see at the cinema.
Think Hitmans Bodyguard's Girlfriend's Avatar, but with much less swearing.
I get the impression I missed a lot of the jokes because they revolve around online gaming and youtube, neither of which I am not a fan of, or I have probably seen them already used in other shows.
Not having a go at a film that's supposed to be just fun, but a lot of it was full of contradictions (like millie's in-game avatar is just herself, not an avatar..who plays a game to play themselves in the game? never!esp since shes supposed to be "undercover" in it), so its probably best just to shut off the brain 100% when it starts, and enjoy the colours and jests.

Re: Free Guy
Quite enjoyed that movie. It passes the time nicely and was better than I expected from a Ryan Reynolds movie. It was silly and non-sensical at times, but not in an annoying way. Cast was ok, appreciated the cameos, but it's definitely not the kind of movie I would watch more than the one time.
