Managed to catch a press screening, I see the reviews are out, in the main great, with some poor mixed in.

I thought it was visually amazing but the second half really drags, and the final act doesn’t really do much.

i got an email for a test on tuesday at westfield but it was withdrawn on website (or ran out) instantly.

The person that introduced the film said some of the digital effects may not have been fully rendered. It's possible some alterations could be made before it officially gets released next month.

Saw the movie at an exclusive BFI preview on October 5 and it was truly amazing. I had no read the book at all prior to seeing the movie but it was so well made that knowledge of the book is not necessary to understand the story. All the characters are set up nicely, the cast is on point and the photography and CGI is perfect in my opinion. Totally recommend, even if you have never read the book!
