Off to see this at the o2 tonight. Will post a review later. Not sure what to expect. It sounds a lot like About Schmidt...

I noticed there are two topics for this film in 'film discussion'. Any chance of combining the two?

I have a feeling this will be a lot more sentimental, if the original's anything to go by.

There are still tickets left for this, including Fulham.

I'm not sure if 'enjoyed' is the right word as I cried for the last 15mins. An understated film but pretty good if you like weepies. Also I now wish could visit my parents but they're on the other side of the world so can't afford it (which is probably why it got to me so much). Will make an effort to call this weekend though.

Saw this in Edinburgh tonight., so much for needing a ticket they did not even wait till I had opened up my ticket then promptly told a load of us to go to the wrong cinema. What a disruption. Even had a person with a cart selling sweets.

Very easy to watch film and liked the way the children were children then adults, thought this was a nice touch. Cinema very busy, but one of the smaller screens.

Robert Di Niro always seems to become the character he is playing and was very believable as the father who was adrfit after the mother died.

Overall 7 out of 10 from me o/

I also thought this was a 7/10.

I thought De Niro was very good and fitted well, I thought everyone acted it very well. It has it's funny moments but also its sad ones. It didn't make me cry however which is odd as I am normally a bit a weepy. The film itself is very sweet.

Second film I have been to see this year (other was Lovely Bones) and I have to say I am impressed so far with the 2010 offerings!

Wasn't overly impressed with the film. Robert De Niro did the best with what he was given which wasn't much.

A very short review from a film that didn't produce too many hightlights for me.

Vue Islington quite busy but well behaved, with ushers showing latecomers to the seats in front. Met a few regulars and bagged the seats in the middle of the last row, where the staircase is, for a quick getaway at the end!

Thought it was a good film but didn't make me cry. But then I don't have kids so probably can't relate that much. Was expecting more of a comedy, instead it was quite slow paced and sad. The ending was nice though with the painting of the wires and everyone together at Christmas. I loved how they showed wires everytime someone spoke on the phone, to illustrate what Frank earlier had said about his job.

A very nice film, but with many sad moments. Good acting all round.
