This was simultaneously not quite as bad as I expected yet also worse at times. To get the "worse" out of the way first: Anna Faris and Rose Byrne. I had no particular dislike for them before this film but I really didn't understand why the male counterparts fell for them. Rose was bland, superficial and creepily skinny and Anna was bland, dull and very not pretty...

The guys on the other hand? Yum! Couldn't pinpoint where I knew Josh from until funthing29 reminded me he was in Life of Pi. He's quite cute. And Simon Baker's hair should get a movie of its own, could not stop staring at it...

Great supporting cast, who easily outshone the leads, including the hilarious Minnie Driver/Jason Flemyng combo and Stephen Merchant who did get a bit annoying after a while but managed to get quite a few laughs at the start. I also really liked the fact that they were in central London a few times and I recognised the places they were at :D

Overall a 6.5 - would've probably enjoyed it more were I not distracted by someone near who farted at least four times (it was smelly) during the film and the nervous seat-kicker behind me.

Yeah and just before the film I'd been talking about how I don't know where the theatre is too! Recognised Jersey Boys, Palace Theatre (Singin' in the Rain) and Carnaby Street (in front of Jack Wills).

Saw this tonight at O2 Cineworld.

I had high expectations for this film especially after seeing the trailer but I was left feeling quite empty after seeing this tonight.

When it was good it was very good but unfortunately they were also low points and when it was dull it was dull. It did not know whether to be a comedy or a film about relationships. The comedic moments were great and over the top but the moments when they were meant to be serious left me cold.

The acting was good but the uneven nature of the film left me empty and when it was over I was quite glad.

The supporting actors dead pan delivery was the best. As mentioned before this was no Bridesmaids but better than The Knot and A Few Best Men.

I went in with low expectations, so I got a nice surprise as I did laugh more than once. But if Simon Baker was not in it I wouldn't have gone to see it and I wouldn't have missed out really. It had potential but then the casting director did a poor job with female leads (I didn't like them before and this movie only provided extra ammunition against them) and the writers went for what was easy and predictable for the most part.

6/10 (and mostly because of SB)

Better than expected, totally predictable but enjoyable. A few naughty bits, and a few funny bits. Recognised a lot of faces. 7/10 (mostly for Simon Baker too).

Nice to see Beate, who inadvertently saved us seats (thanks!) and her OH, and also nice to catch up with ZoeBanfield.

Well that was mostly crap, wasn't it?

First of all the O2 was really cold so had to use my big scarf as a blanket. And of course it started late again - I am going to complain this time. Plus had some annoying talkers and phone twitchers close.

This was mostly boring, when it wasn't offensive or crude. Stephen Merchant was horrible - the most insensitive character I've met in a while. That best man speech was cringeworthy! I laughed about twice and the second time was when the wife said to him triumphantly and happily relieved at the anniversary meal:
[spoiler]"And I will NEVER have to see YOU again!"[/spoiler]

What was Minnie Driver doing in this? You'd get a bigger role if you were the third donkey from the left in the nativity play, and what was that hate/love couple supposed to teach us? "Welcome to the soundtrack of my marriage" was an amusing quip, but nothing more.

Why were there three Americans cast in an otherwise British film? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against American actors but there should be a purpose about them being American in this scenario, no? Mind you, I don't like Liam Neeson forever playing the American now either.

Why was Anna Faris made into a plain charity worker? So didn't suit her. And the less said about Simon Baker and that two doves scene, the better. It's also not my kind of humour just to be unintentionally rude like when she (can't remember her name that's how dull she was) said to Rafe Spall "No, you're my type. I don't really go for good-looking, you know." Ha ha, so funny.

Oh, but I'd like such a nice big digital photo frame. Never knew they existed. They look great (with the right pictures displaying, ahem).

Simon Baker & Rose Byrne are both Australian if they are the "Americans" you refer to. If not apologies and I'll go look for more Americans! :-)

Gosh, how confusing, I am pretty sure he played an American though - he said Brits against Yanks at the snooker game?

Yip. He was playing an American and she was playing a Brit. Very bizarre.
Most people think they arer both American due to the success of TV shows they've been in. Her = Damages. Him = The Mentalist.
