X-Men: First Class

#1 Post by hopeprince » Sat Apr 23, 2011 12:39 am

Plot Summary: "X-Men: First Class" charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

Starring: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Zoe Kravitz, Bill Bilner

As much as i want to see this i still think they need to make a final fourth film in the original "X-Men" series. It should center around the Apocalypse story line and obviously Bryan Singer should come back to direct. I just feel like everyone wants a final film by Singer to complete that series, then fox can continue on with these "X-Men Origins" movies.

The rushed production over last year's second half, the appalling marketing happening currently, I am very very worried about this film.
It might turn out to be a surprise, but as it stands, nervously waiting a disaster.

Im actually very looking forward to this. We havnt had a good X-men movie in 8 years, and now there's an awesome director onboard (who previously left X-3 due to how Fox was micromanaging it), shows that it should be different and much better. Also, an X-men movie, without f**king Wolverine. Finally we can get the X-men working as an actual team, rather than feeling like a distraction.

That being said, Fox has a history of ruining movie's, but the fact Vaughn is onboard surely must be a sign they have backed off alot and let him work.
Preferred cinemas (in order of choice): Hatfield, Enfield, Lee Valley, Watford, Leicester Square/Central London, Greenwhich or anywhere within the catchment area of those.

All loved all 3 X men films including the much slated 3rd installment. I also thought Wolverine: Origins rocked which also received bad reviews. Mostly Comic books can never be directly translated to the big screen. So when I watch these movies I do not think of comic adaptions but to enjoy the films in their own right but as long as the characters stay true (on the whole).

I am very pumped for First Class, the trailers (especially this international one) are um...first class :P

Check this international trailer out, its even more awesome

I wished Fox weren't as obsessed with release dates before films are locked for production, but I guess they make money anyway, why would they change?

Because they don't have much going for them in franchise terms. Warner Bros have Batman and Superman while Columbia pictures has Spider-man

They also had the Harry Potter movies but that's coming to an end now...

I was a HUGE fan of x-men evolution. i loved all 3 seasons. (not so much the animated series though). I had wished they would bring Apocalpyse into the films and then have the brotherhood, spyke's team, the x-men and everyone working together. I get why they turned jean into pheonix as that was in prof x's vision, but i don't think they should have taken rogue's power away. she used to be one of my fav in the x-men. I have all episodes on DVD's and watch them randomly all the time. Anywaya i hope X-men first class is really good. Has x-men codes ever come on her before?
