Mobile Phones

#1 Post by steve9872 » Fri Apr 29, 2011 2:10 pm

Discuss here anything to do with your phone, smartphone, calling plan, reviews, who to avoid, who's the best provider, cheapest plans, and anything else I haven't thought of.

I've started this to stop it taking over the Diary room, permanently, and because others thought it was a good idea.

I am very interested in tablets as I want to be able to type better than on a mobile and some tablets allow you to plug in a portable keyboard. However, even in an ever-changing market, things are really in a state of flux at the moment, with so many new products emerging or due soon. The Blackberry Playbook looks interesting...

Interesting raj101 and Ms Thrifty - I too want something similar, and would prefer a small paperback size, as I don't want to carry around something too big or heavy! And can still fit in my handbag! ;)

I will probably have to end up with 2 or even 3 contracts (for home, mobile and tablet) as I don't want to compromise on weight when walking so will need to keep my simple but lightweight mobile. And our home bundle is very good but doesn't include mobiles or mobile broadband.

There are plenty of portable devices with various add-ons but I wish someone would invent one where the mobile 'phone detaches so you can carry that part only if you wish. But probably no market for it.

Is an Ipad a tablet? (not that I want one) I currently have a 10 Samsung netbook for when I travel but am thinking of getting something lighter for surfing etc. Not for using as a phone as I want a smart phone as well
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks
