My sister and I tried one of those fish foot spas yesterday - where tiny Garra-Rufa fish are used to give you a pedicure. We were just heading for Pizza Express when my sister spotted a special offer for a short session at a nearby hair salon, and only seconds later, as it seemed, we were both sitting in the shop window, feet immersed in tanks and in full view of many very curious passers-by. Has anyone else tried this? It tickled like mad at first but you get used to it. I'd certainly do it again if I was sure about the welfare of the fish.

My moms pa*d for me to have it done tomorrow, but I b*ght a session for her for mothers day, she said it tickled quite a bit!
But from what I understand, the fish feed off dead skin :S Kind of like(not sure if youve seen them on nature documentarys) the fish that if you scuba dive and open your mouth, theyll swim in and clean your teeth, guess its also similar to when you put your hands into the tanks at the aquarium/sea life centre and those shrimps come over and clean your fingers.

urgh no, the thought of it makes me wan't to be sick. If I see any in the shopping malls, I have to look away.

Th other thing that goes through my head is The Apprentice and how these people are not properly trained in what they do.

Ok, bit of a weird situation to explain, but im hoping for advice/similar or possibly same experiences or opinions.

Ive just got a call from Doubletake Studios, claiming that my friend had a free pampering day with them, and shed brought a friend, and if they recommended firther friends they got a free gift bag, I was one fo the recommended friends (taking in mind that Hazel is my University room mate who I dont really took to). So Ive just been invited along for the exact same treatment(make up, hair stylist and photography studio session for free, but I had to p*y a booking fee which would be refunded upon my visit(i quickly asked if I could cancel thiss so I could get confirmation off my friend, and they stated I have 5 days to cancel, and I wont be charged)
But basically, is this legit? :/ I know it sounds like a massive rip off or scam :/

I've had phonecalls about something similar before saying a friend had recommended me to have a free photoshoot.

They do the styling for free but you have to p*y for the photos so it is not free. The fact they asked you to p*y a booking fee makes it sound very dodgy.

I would stay well clear if I were you.

Just had a reply from Hazel, and apparently it's true....only probem is if I cancel within 5 days, i dont get my £20 booking fee back, but if I do it after that period Ill be charge £200.... so do i wait and go and possibly risk having £200 removed from my account(which i dont have!) or just lose the £20? :/

The dead flesh eating fish sound like fun especially as they have no teeth. What do they do ......souk it off??? I must admit I do fancy a go and have now found a friend brave enough to go too. Is there any chance of infections getting passes on from someone else? Also, can the fish be over-fed???? I assume they do eat the skin? I think I'd better do a bit more research before i go!
