Re: Life In A Day
Enjoyable documentary. Often very funny and touching. It doesn't all work and some of the footage makes a greater impact than others. Not all of the juxtapositions feel right but it works very well most of the time. I had worried that a youtube doc wouldn't work on the big screen but it did.
Shame I had such a bad seat at the Vue Westfield though. Four rows from the front and right by the wall. Could have moved but somebody sat on the end of the row and I just stayed put. Had a killer headache by the end though.

I thought this was a pretty interesting concept but a bit too long to hold my attention, especially after watching the riveting red carpet footage

Re: Life In A Day
Seen this in Cardiff on the 14th the same night as Take That were at the M stadium. Crowds everywhere but not in the Vue. I would be suprised if we had double figures. There was an interview with numerous people before the film and they had tweets at the bottom of the screen which became more interesting than the intervies as time went on. It lasted 30 mins by which time even the tweets were asking when is the film starting! OH even fell asleep - again!
Similar to other comments, could have been shorter as some clips were disjointed and boring while others like the animal killings were there for the shock eliment. As soon as the love parade scene started I kept thinking 'don't show the deaths' but it did. I know similar things happen every day around the world but it was still distressing to see.
I also thought it was more suited to the small screen, say channel 4. For me it just had that kind of small screen feel to it. It looked like a documentary with ADHD.
5/10 mainly for the Korean bike rider

Re: Life In A Day
There is the occasional interesting moment during this montage, but it's ultimately a limp and tedious 90 minutes that only really confirmed to me that nothing interesting really happened on July 24th 2010. Some might argue that's the whole point of the film, so we can see some of the little things that don't make the news. But does intentional boredom and tedium really have any business appearing in a cinema? Probably not.

My mate did a Tweet thanking me for taking her, in the meantime I was struggling to get online but, Westfield's WiFi took over my phone and I couldn't get sorted in time to do a FMUK Tweetbaty wrote:Seen this in Cardiff on the 14th the same night as Take That were at the M stadium. Re: Life In A Day
I don't think it helped at all that the red carpet interviews started at 6:30pm, was expecting any red carpet stuff to be playing while people were arriving 6 to 6:30pm and playing the extra clips made it feel like you'd seen a longer film. I like documentaries but there was nothing with any depth so it felt like a long montage for a doc channel for "what's coming up this year" or something like that. There were quite a few times when I wanted to know more info like the korean guy, how was he being funded?
Most people left before the Q&A started, staff had come in trying to get people to stay. I looked around after a couple of questions and saw that the cinema was empty! so I left too, it was just far too long to be sat in a cinema.

This was kind of interesting, but I agree with KK that not all of the juxtapositions feel right. 6/10

What screen were you in H? I was in screen 2 which was pretty empty. I heard the staff say that the cinema was closed to the general public until 8pm. So how many screens did they have?
LOL on the way in, the photographers asked me and my mate to wait for a photo, but I ran off
