Re: Weight Watchers
See that's the problem, Val. Slimmers give the perception that its all about making sure you eat a certain amount of calories. Its not. And I do admit early in my fat loss journey I thought it was too. YES, we do need to lower our calorie intake a little but the fact is its not about that. Its about eating BETTER QUALITY calories. Not neccessarily reducing it.valda wrote:http://www.pizzaexpress.com/pdfs/files/ ... 164755.pdf
I wish my work colleague would eat properly. She's supposed to be going to Slimming world, but seems to be only eating Pineapple, Strawberrys, the odd fishstick or prawns and random stuff like that. NO wonder she has bad stomach
Its actually far more healthier and fat loss effective to eat a 500 calorie meal of fish and vegetables or organic beef and veg, than a 300 calorie pizza. Why? Because its the way our stomach digests food. Anything refined such as white bread, white rice, crabsticks, the digestive system doesnt know what to do and so digests all this rubbish into our system effectively making us more unhealthy and increasing our ability to store more fat. But with anything unrefined (suchs as wholegrain bread, brown rice, even brown sugar) or organic, our digestive system knows exactly how to digest the food properly ensuring all minerals and vitamins are absorbed appropriately and wastes going through the wastes channels. This helps us to be leaner and healthier.
And also of course we need the proper balance of protein, carbs, and good fat. The key is to have it all as unrefined as possible. Also, do reduce complex carbs such as rice, potatoes and pasta. These are actually sugary foods! Yeah, that was a complete shock to me too last year. But we do need some complex carbs in our diet but not too much. Make most of your meals should be protein rich with plenty of vegetables.
I'll try find a definitive list of refined and unrefined foods and post it up.

Re: Weight Watchers
Wel from what I can remember from this morning, a banana, a couple of coffees, Shredded Wheat immediately followed by a punnet of pineapple. Then an hour later, some packet cooked chicken, a packet of crabsticks and another banana. I can't get her to listen and do it sensibly. She'll probaby have some more fruit today then go to bed without a meal

Re: Weight Watchers
I have a friend who is the same, she has lost over a stone since joining Slimming World, but I think if she had just cut out some of junk she snacks on and reduced her portion sizes...............we used to work a lot of evening shifts together and often would end up stopping to pick up a micro dinner on the way in I know not the healthiest but I would get a regular sized one and she would polish off a whole family sized one...........so would have had the same result, without feeling the need to graze all day and deny herself in the evening which is unsustainable and fruit never fills you up for long.TheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:Tragic! Re: Weight Watchers
Thanks so much Valda, I've decided on the Leggara Verdure and maybe Semmi Freddo Reale depending on how much I have eaten and exercised on the day.valda wrote:http://www.pizzaexpress.com/pdfs/files/ ... 164755.pdf

Re: Weight Watchers
She's got massive stomach problems, I can hear it gurgling away all day poor thing. I keep nagging her but she just says, its in her allowance. I despise these type of classes. Surely the teacher can't be reading her food diary?raineylb wrote:I have a friend who is the same, she has lost over a stone since joining Slimming World, but I think if she had just cut out some of junk she snacks on and reduced her portion sizes...............we used to work a lot of evening shifts together and often would end up stopping to pick up a micro dinner on the way in I know not the healthiest but I would get a regular sized one and she would polish off a whole family sized one...........so would have had the same result, without feeling the need to graze all day and deny herself in the evening which is unsustainable and fruit never fills you up for long.TheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:Tragic! Still until I start this new regime, I can't preach too much.

Re: Weight Watchers
Sorry no sympathy here, you really have to look after yourself or you will end up permanently damaged and you wouldn't want that would you
My knees are bad today so I'm going to make sure I take it easy on myself
