Re: Weight Watchers
Valda don't be harsh on yourself you've got a medical condition that is causing your problem whereas I just eat too much.
I'm all for whatever works for you. I always start my first week of a diet on the rubbishy weight watchers or equivalent meals and spend ages on body lotions/potions/exfoliators after my bath/shower and when I actually feel all my lumps and bumps it stops me from eating loads. Just reading a Cat Deeley article and she says when you have to stand in just a flesh coloured thong in front of strangers it makes you stop going for the extra biscuit; the thought of me doing that makes me feel quite nauseous.
We will I'm sure get some backlash from our diets from the wise one.
Aruif you have just got some fab shoes so you are being body concious so that's a plus.
I take it MrGlass you have been playing cricket today?

Re: Weight Watchers
Thanks Celini, I'll check that out vxCelini wrote:Hahahhahha, I feel so much like having popcorn right now, but there is no popcorn in my cupboard (lesson learnt from my mum... do not b*y junk food, otherwise you will end up eating said junk food!)
With my popcorn craving in mind, I opened the cupboards and I found some Ebly (Pure Durum Wheat); it appears to be excellent eating directly from the box (no cooking), plenty of proteins/fibres, not too much calories!
Maybe you should look into it Valda?
And it's also very yummy when cooked

Where did you find that Valda? don't want to totally give up popcorn when havingascreenvalda wrote:So, tomorrow I'll start, I've got a variey of Diet Chef stuff around, and have found this amazing popcorn, 100% wholegrain and is gluten-free and high in fibre. it is air-popped – rather than oil-popped – which means it has the lowest fat levels possible. its 93 calories and the chipotle chili flavour is immense
Its working then diane if just the thought of it turns your stomacheDiane65 wrote:Deeley article and she says when you have to stand in just a flesh coloured thong in front of strangers it makes you stop going for the extra biscuit; the thought of me doing that makes me feel quite nauseous.
Thats where i'm at, been going food crazy since i've been on hols from work. No regular meals, no fruit, veg.....basically if its not deep fried and layred in fat i don't want it. In a desperate attempt i b*ght a Gillian McKeith book from the market to kick start my new healthy eating and today ate a nectarine for breakfast......that was before i was swayed by a breakfast offer of bacon roll and coffee. I had lots of tunnock teacakes and tuc cheese sandwiches but lovely pizza and salad for tea. Got doritos and home made salsa for later.......and maybe a cake or two (Tesco's reduced).aruif wrote:nope nope nope nope and ...err nope.
just about covers it
As you can see i'm very see food and eat it at the mo.
However i have ordered that tape measure Glassy. I weighed myself last week on some scales i found in a charity shop and they said 14 stone

Re: Weight Watchers
The Diva Popcorn isn't around many places yet, I know that Tossed do it and Harrods and Whole foods. Its probably a case of looking around. OH Amazon do it but only 12 packets at a time.
I've done Diet chef before, and its quite a lot cheaper on QVC. it does work, and its easy to do. I add more veg to the meals to fill it out a bit more. Worst thing is all these meals look dreary as there is no additives etc. so its all brown grey or tomato coloured.
Thanks for all the advice and encouragement, and Diane65, Its bad enough looking at myself in a shop changing room let alone in front of strangers

Indeed, just came back home...to find a lot of activity going on in this thread, wowDiane65 wrote:

I wont post more here tonight as I intend to watch a movie right now (1st film of my new extended Lord of the Rings Blu Ray box set and which is 3.5 bloody hours long!)
But you girls rock with your game plan settings. Yes I dont agree with Diet Chef because honestly, the reasons we all slip back into old ways after making apparantly great progress with special diets (including Weightwatchers and diet chef) is because these diets cannot be maintained for life. Yes you will lose weight from these diets. Yes it sounds great. BUT once you are off it (simply because it is impossible to maintain for life without suffering mental breakdown or other health problems), you will all likely to find yourselves back to old ways with a vengeance.
All that needs to be done girls, is to simply and gradually substitute the processed foods for more natural good foods. You do not even need to eat less. Its not about how much calories you have. Its about the quality of those calories. Less complex carbs, more protein (organic even better) and lots and lots of variety of vegetables of different colours for 6 days a week, then treat yourself to your favourite cheat meals on your 7th day. Drink lots of water and herbal teas (no milk) to prevent those sweet cravings. And break your meals into 5 a day. Honestly, this formula works like magic. And furthermore its an adoption to a healthier lifestyle for LIFE that you can thoroughly enjoy and not suffer with. This way you do not have to suffer and waste your mental energy on dieting. That mental energy can instead be refocussed on your life, career, hobbies and goals. I swear to all of you, I am enjoying ALL of my meals I have which are wholesome and tasty. I still have my cake and eat it too, LITERALLY. Because it is only on my cheat day, that cake taste out of this world because its more special. I am currently pursuing a 10% BF goal however, so I might have to sacrifice that cake for a while but that's only because of my rather extremely ambitious goal drive. After I reach that 10% goal, I'll stay with it for short while then go back to about 15% to live a more comfortable lifestyle.
One more thing: CHEW YOUR FOOD SLOWLY. This way, your brain will register you are full straightaway. If you eat too quickly, you will eat too much because your brain hasnt quite caught on that you are full. Very important thing to remember. But when I say slow, not as slow as a bloody gorilla who would chew on a bamboo stick for hours! Just slow enough for your brain sensors to register when you are full.
So please consider adopting the above lifestyle. 70% of losing body fat is all on what you eat. The other 30% is the complementary exercises.
So here is a typical week menu that I suggest for you girls. Please use it as a guideline and try adopt such a lifestyle but only if its not too drastic a change in your lifestyle. Make your changes gradual, but if you feel driven then go ahead. Play around with it, substitute for foods you do like etc. The meals may look small but remember, its FIVE meals...and you know already why this is such a special fat burning trick dont you? Its the biggest secret to successfully losing the body fat.

- No sugar, sweets or anything sugary food and take 1 multvitamins/minerals daily;
Give everyone here feedback on what you eat.
I've started to build a workout program for all of you, taking into consideration your different environmental parameters. I will get that finished within a couple of days and post it up. It refers to exercises on the youtube videos so you can get the technique correct.
Val, you got your gym membership. Get yourself a program from the induction and make sure you ask for a level 3 qualified trainer to do the induction. And check with your GP on your plans of exercises and diet, considering your current condition. Make the most of the classes too. get back in that rhythm! I dont know what your condition is about but please ensure whatever you do is within safety zones approved by your doctor.
Havingascreen, well done for getting the tape measure!
Did I say I was gonna watch Lord of the Rings at the beginning of the intended 4 line post?....I guess I just cant keep away from here can I?

That is a great modification. reducing or better still eliminating sugar from tea/coffee is a big steparuif wrote:i have realised that i no longer like sugar in my tea or coffee! so even if everything else is going to pot that's one thing.

Have your strawberries and cream on your reward day. during the week substitute for your favourite fruit without any cream. better still substitute for a some walnuts or cashew etc. Keep substituting for something much less naughty!

Re: Weight Watchers
Yep across belly button is a good guage, as long as you are consistent each time and measure yourself exactly the same time of day every 2 weeks. (eg before morning breakfast)rawr_xoxo wrote:Finally found the tape measure today

Also, remember, you always need to rest the muscle groups you worked on, so if you are going to the gym every day, I hope you are working on DIFFERENT muscle groups each day. If you are working on the same ones, then you are giving your self no time for recovery and that is dangerous and unproductive. If its whole body workouts you are doing, then you should be going to the gym no more than 4 or 5 days a week.
Loving your drive, its awesome rawr_oxo, I just want to be sure you are channeling your drive efficiently

Re: Weight Watchers
Well usually the muscle groups I work on depends on if said machines are free unfortunately :/
Ive started to do the bike and rowing machine for 40 mins, as opposed to walking on 15% incline for 40 mins, thought that might be an improvement.
And weights wise, I do the thigh abduction, chest press, leg press, ab abductor, the back version of the ab abductor, then do leg pull ups on another weird machine.
Usually Ill swap the ab weight machines for crunches and the medicine ball in the corner if its full, but I dont give the muscles a rest cause they never ache the next day
